I was wondering if anyone has used a Baggallini Messenger bag in the parks. They seem to be smaller than a backpack. I am trying to find a nice bag for our upcoming trip. So I am curious what everyone uses. We usually take a backpack but I would love to find something a little smaller. But I definately want a bad that has a mesh pocket for a water bottle.

I use the Baggallini waist/shoulder pack. It doubles as a waist pack, and with the switch of a strap it becomes a shoulder bag. I have one in beige and one in black. It does not have a mesh bag for water. Instead I bought a bottle strap in MK to hang the bottle on.

I love my baggallini and won't travel without it!

I used my Baggaleni last week (May 13th-May 22nd) and loved it. I used the big flat pocket that fits against your back (or side) to hold important stuff on the days I was switching hotels (an accordian type file with my flight info, resort info, DME, copies of AP and DDE, larger amounts of cash and travelers checks, etc). I used the big pocket in the middle to hold my camera, snacks, and mister fan, the Brita bottle barely sqeezed into the side mesh pocket, but it did fit. I had placed my ID, insurance card, AP, DDE card, room key, and credit card into one of those plastic wallet picture divider thingys and so it slid easily into one of the pockets in the middle section, I zipped my room safe key, extra batteries and memory card for my digital camera into the little zippered section just below my ID stuff. I placed a few dollars and some change into a change purse with a key loop on it and locked it into the pencil holder, then placed a notepad and pens in the pocket just below that. My laminated itinerary I placed in the sideways pocket just behind my ID stuff and the notepad and coin purse in its' own pocket. I still had several little divider pockets left that I didn't even use. Then I used the front zippered pocket to hold lip balm, face blotter sheets, a little makeup, small hairbrush, bandaids, moleskin, small bottle sunblock, and a small deodorant. Everything fit and my hands were still free. Oh, I also put a folded 2 gallon ziplock in the back flat pocket that fits against your back and put the baggaleni in it for Kali River Rapids to keep it dry, even though I had already waterproofed it before leaving home. On the days I carried my cell phone it fit into the other side pocket (on the opposite side from the water bottle holder). Cell phones are supposed to fit into the hidden pocket on the strap, but my cell phone was too big, so I used that little hidden pocket to stuff a poncho into, even though I never needed it. Anyway the Baggaleni held all my stuff with some room left over.

Just curious, where did you buy your messenger bag? I am thinking about getting one, I just can't tell from the pictures if it is big enough for our stuff.

On e-bay a seller has them as a buy now item. I paid $16.99 for it plus shipping which was $4.00. The seller is listed as 'redlulu'. The bags were first mentioned on a thread on here and I believe quite a few Disers bought them. I know I saw a couple when I as at WDW last week. I like it because it holds more than my larger WDW backpack (due to all the pockets) and when you adjust the strap it can be worn as a messenger bag on your side or on your back as a backpack and is comfortable either way.

Is it easy to get to the stuff in the bag part, or do you have to take it off everytime you need something?

What about on rides- do you take it off?

I bought one and have tested it at Great America. I like it because you can kind of pull it around to the front to get things out of it without actually taking the bag off.

I find it is a good size for carrying park maps, camera, 2 walletts, 2 sets of keys, and I have plenty of room left. I even carried my DH jacket in it (this filled it up to the very tippy top) I bought my bag from Redlulu on Ebay and recd my bag VERY quickly(mere days). it was still in it's original packaging.
