I'm going to try to book a cabin at Fort Wilderness soon. It's my first potential stay at a new resort where I have to work around the fact that some of my resale points were purchased after the resort restriction went into place. I have 100 resale points purchased prior to the restriction that are not affected, but I have one 25 point contract and just closed on another 100 point contract that I do not think I will be able to use at the newer resorts (Riviera, Disneyland Hotel, Fort Wilderness) because the sales were completed after the change.
Has anybody tried to book online at one of these resorts with a mix of direct and resales points? Does the system understand the restriction and block you from using them for the reservation? Or will it go through and then potentially Member Services will get involved and either cancel it or tell you to modify it?
I need about 75 points for an upcoming booking and it seems that a portion of my available points cannot be used there. I think I understand the policy change and restrictions well enough; I'm just curious on what the experience is when you try to book on the website. Anyone have experience booking a new resort and running into the resale point use restriction?
