Has anyone tried this with Airtran?

If I go in and change our seats to a more expensive seat selection and use a coupon to pay for the difference then immediately change the seats back to the cheaper seats will the coupon amount be credited to my account to later use for baggage fees?

I doubt it b/c I had more expensive seats and then my flight got changed and I was put in regular seats and if I want to upgrade back - then I have to pay the difference (I booked back when Kayak was still going on) But I would think the same effect would happen with a coupon.

We all had the $6 seats reserved, so I put myself and my husband in an exit row, was able to use 3 Dwight Howard credit numbers to pay the additional $28 difference (the 3rd number only gave us $4, no overage). Confirmed it.

Then I want back in and changed the two seats back (and good thing I did, my kids seat assignments had been lost for some reason, so I got those back, too.) Now my itnerary confirmation shows 2 - $14 credits applied to our account.

I plan to try this one more time so that these credits added to a $20 credit I got earlier for a reduced fare on one flight will give us $62 total so we can do 2 free checked bags both ways! I wonder how many times the system might let us do this?

AWESOME! Thanks so much for trying it out! I'm off to put in my Dwight Howard credits and my coke rewards credit! That will pay for luggage both ways! Now I wish I had tried to get more Dwight Howard credits but I didn't think I'd get to use one for all 6 of us.

I just have to tell you again how awesome you are! I have a $42 credit now. I changed 3 peoples seats and used my 2 DH coupons and $25 coke reward credit, but it only gave me $5 credit on one of the DH coupons. I'm not complaining though since that's $42 I didn't think I'd get credit on! Now if I could just get some sweet sole to give me more DH vouchers I'd be thrilled. Last time I got a bunch of the Airtran coupons, but couldn't use them so gave them away. Wish I had done that this time!

Okay, a couple questions. What are Dwight Howard vouchers? I couldn't use the recent AT coupon code things as my trip isn't till Jan 2nd so miss that again as usual! Also, with the coke credits. How do you get enough credits, do you just need to drink a ton of coke? 315 seems like a lot. Plus, paying for all that would defeat my purpose of course. I'm the only one here who drinks coke. And do you get credits for each drink, can or bottle? I know i can go to the coke site, but I was getting confused and I was hoping since you do this, you may be kind with an answer, lol! On the coke rewards sign up on mycokerewards.com and each 12 pack is 10 points, each bottle is 3 points. You just input the codes from the bottle lids or 12pk carton. It says they are only good until November travel though. What we did though was buy more expensive seat assignments then go back and change them to cheaper seats and it gives you the credit. The Dwight Howard codes were out about a month ago, but they have ran out now. It says they are good for travel thru Sept 30th, but I don't leave until Oct 1st and they worked for me.

I wonder if these types of credits in your account last for a year like the refund you get when the price goes down (although that is a year from when you originall booked).

Do you know how one uses these credits when you are checking your luggage with Disney for DME at departure time from Disney World?

I'm not sure about DME because we stay off site sorry! I can tell you about the 12 pks though. They are worth 10 points each. I'm pretty sure that every drink that Coke makes now has the points on the cartons or lids. The lids are worth 3 points each. I've heard of alot of people that go to ball parks taking the lids off of bottles that people throw down or in the garbage. I'm too self concious to do it although I wish I could! I'm glad you were able to pay for your luggage and thanks again for trying it out!

What I did was change to exit row seats from the $6 seats applied the coupon then went back and changed my seats back to the $6 seats. It credited me the difference (the coupons) into my acct.

YOu may be able to do it over the phone, but online, credit card is the only option.

Cashed in coke points for the airtran certificate, but cant use it. I used the $12 certificates for each of us, so when I go to the use a coupon page it says I have already reached my limit for coupons per person (1)....that sucks

I have the same problem that jessrose18 has, I used $12 coupons too so it say's I can use any more discount codes.
