Has anyone traded for a caribbean location?

I was looking into my choices to trade for. I really like the Westin on St. John. Anyone ever been there?

Also does anyone know what's involved with using points for a non-Disney resort?

I traded for the Marriott Ocean Club in Aruba, but not until December. Actually, we changed our minds about going and I'm going to give ther reservation to my son. I got it right away, but maybe because its from December 15 to 21 (or something like that).

The Westin will be tough as it's the only choice. I haven't been there but have a friend who owns there and have talked to several that have stayed or exchanged there. Overall they are very positive about the resort. If you can get it, outside a studio, you should be very happy. I hear the 3 BR units are to die for.

I have seen the Hacienda del Mar in Dorado, Puerto Rico. They are beautiful and have a wonderful pool complex with a lazy river.

We bought at the Westin St. John before it was available to DVC. We were talking to our DVC guide after it was available to DVC and she said that it was good we bought there because it would be very difficult to get in through II. It is a very small resort and very popular. We are going this fall for our first visit. I will post a review and pictures (if someone will help me post pictures) when I get back.

The three bedrooms are HUGE and have their own private pools with waterfall. It will be very difficult for us to stay in one as we own a two bedroom and the program is not as flexible as DVC.
