Has anyone stayed at both POFQ and CSR? Can you PLEASE help me decide on a last minute trip?

We have booked a last minute trip to the world and our budget for this trip allows us a moderate resort stay. We have never stayed Moderate before so we have no experience with either resort. We are going for 6 nights total, but night 1, we are arriving at 1am (so pretty much the next day). That night we have POP booked. The rest of the time we are booked at POFQ.
Now we are watching some videos, we LOVE the rooms at CSR.

This trip is going to be a big resort stay (less park time, probably only at nighttime) so I really want to love the resort we are at. Lots of pool time, exploring, eating, etc.

What we love about POFQ: The brand new refurbed rooms, the small size (to minimize walking to main part of resort), the single bus stop, the cool pool for DD, and the boat to DS. Also, the reviews here are stellar!!

But for this "heavy resort stay", will we be bored at this small resort?

Then I look at CSR and it doesnt "feel" Disney to me but I LOVE the rooms (we wold book prefered casitas if we were to book), LOVE the DIG pool, LOVE the bar/restaurant/shop. This resort seems very spread out so even to the dig pool would be a treck. But I feel like we woulnt be bored here since its bigger? It does feel very "conventioney" to me while POFQ is more quaint.

Now to the point- for those who have stayed at the 2, seeing what we are looking for, which would you choose? Both have brand new rooms. But after that, they are totally different. Price difference is minimal. Oh, and btw, is a 3 and 3 split stay just ridiculous for such a short trip (actually 5 days not 6)? What would you do?! Thank you so much!!

Our last trip was CSR and the two trips prior to that were POFQ! I am torn on what you should do. CSR has more variety in sit down meals and a great pool area. We didn’t find it had a convention feel to it at all. We were in Casitas 3, water front. It is always nice to step out your door and see water. You can spend time walking around the lake and going in to see the other areas and what they have on offer. Downsides, the multiple bus stops can be annoying. It is really big, but being in a preferred room it doesn’t really matter at the end of the day. There is construction going on but I found it interesting to see how far it got in just a week. The construction doesn’t impact the resort in my opinion.

POFQ....has my heart still. Such a small intimate resort. You can walk down the river to POR, or catch the boat to DS. The one bus stop is a great bonus IMO. You can wander around the resort too still. Not as many spots to see but there are a few little areas to check out. Downsides, no sit down restaurant on site. The pool is alright, not great.

Have you stayed at either? I would probably go POFQ and save CSR until it’s done and you can see what it has become. I really don’t think you would go wrong at either!

The pool area at POFQ is more centered toward small kids, the one at CSR is better for older kids and adults. If the pool is no big deal then I would go with POFQ. If a nice pool slide, hot tub, ect is important go with CSR. One factor that is HUGE in my opinion is the boat to Disney Springs with POFQ.

Makes me ask this though, do any of the boats now from the Port Orleans resorts and OKW, do any of them drop off at the Market Place dock? Or must one be staying at SSR to be able to walk to Disney Springs to enter through the Market Place now? I can't stand where the buses from the resorts drop you off at when you arrive at Disney Springs. Seems like to me that they chose the other end of Disney Springs to drop off at because those stores and such get hardly any foot traffic as it is.

I’ve stayed at both and greatly enjoyed both. I want to say you can’t go wrong with either except if CSR is under construction during your trip, I think you would be better off at POFQ.

If you opt for CSR, make sure you view some videos on the construction because it's ALOT of the resort. Pepper Market is getting a makeover ( that's the QS ) and I'm not sure of the timeline.

I love both, but for us, right now I wouldn't put relaxing and CSR in the same sentence.

I love both! When are you going? CSR pool is going to be closed for referb starting in September. I've read that people staying at CSR during construction get special pins.

Without construction I would choose CSR for an adult stay. With construction going on, I would be torn between the two.

I love both resorts and have stayed at both multiple times. However with the construction at CSR I would go with POFQ. With POR being within walking distance you have 2 resorts to explore. And you can use the pool and services of both. Plus hopping on the boat and heading to Disney Springs is another great way to spend non park time.

I haven't stayed at POFQ, have stayed at POR and walked over to POFQ every morning. I've stayed at all the moderates except POFQ but it just doesn't appeal to me. Partly for the reason it does appeal to most people, I don't like the small size, I don't like the theming, the outside of the rooms look a little too value/motel to me and that big ole harlequin at the pool creeps me out. We love CSR, it might be our favorite of the moderates. It's not really that big and when we were there last December the construction wasn't a bother at all. The pool was open when we were there and I'm not sure if that would make a difference to us. There are two quiet pools and they will be open but we enjoy the hot tub and a refreshing adult beverage so that might sway us. We don't do DS so the boat going there is not a selling point for us. I suppose if we couldn't get into POR and the pool at CSR was closed, we might try POFQ but it would be a last resort kind of thing for us.

Port Orleans resort boats still drop off at the Marketplace. I think that’s the name for that area? Right by SSR. It’s nice being dropped there, I like that area more than the opposite side. However, I kinda wish there were two drop offs because it’s a hike to get to the other area if you have a dining reservation. And I’m with you, can’t stand the bus drop off area :(

Ya, Disney buses are dropping off there on purpose. I don't think those stores get a lot of traffic. I know when I come to Disney I'm not gonna be spending the amount of money required too in some of those stores. I don't think they have figured that out just yet.

The Port Orleans resorts and SSR have the Marketplace advantage.

It also seems much hotter over there! And not Disney, just an outdoor shopping area.

I've stayed at both and really enjoy them both. If I was going tomorrow I would stay at POFQ because of the construction going on at CSR right now.

We love CSR and have been loyal visitors of that resort but right now there's a ton of construction which includes a high rise which is pretty obtrusive in my opinion. I'd go with POFQ.

Stayed at both and would stay at both again! But, with CSR heavy into construction and the possibility of your stay overlapping when the pool is closed ... my vote is for POFQ.

POFQ gets my vote. cSR feels very La Quintaish to me(sorry!). You can also take a carriage ride at PO, listen to Yehaw Bob, & eat at Boatwrights. Walking between POFQ & Riverside, if it's even called that anymore, is easy & peaceful & you can use either pool as well as amenities at either resort

Thank you everyone!! This decision is SO hard!! I actually wouldnt mind the construction at CBR (weve watched many videos). ALso, we will be there in August so the pool will be open. I love so much about both and I love to try new resorts! Is a split stay a ridiculous idea for such a short trip? I want both lol!!
