Has anyone stayed at Ayers or Clarion Hotel?

How was your experience there? Rooms? Staff? Food?

I quite like the Clarion and it's my dad and stepmums hotel of choice when they are in Anaheim.

I've not stayed there since 2010 but my dad was there last May and said not much has changed.

The rooms are pretty standard. The staff were really nice. There's a little restaurant which is ok.

You can get the ART down to the parks, although my dad prefers to walk.

I love both Ayres Orange and Ayres Anaheim. If you can do a search you should be able to find fairly recent posts about both. Sorry my computer is not cooperating tonight to find the posts.

Stayed at Clarion in 2010. Not bad but PLEASE if you stay there, don't make the mistake I did in assuming it was "walking distance". Heck no, especially not if you want to take breaks. Use the free Toy Story shuttle instead. Parking is expensive there. I believe they keep their rates equal to that of the parks.

I have never stayed at the Clarion but have at the Ayres. It was nice and clean. And reasonably priced. They also had a free hot breakfast. Too far to walk to the parks just so you know.

We stayed at the Clarion in 2009. We didn't spend a great deal of time in our room but it was simple and clean. As for it not being within walking distance of the parks I guess that is a matter of personal preference. We walked to the parks every day (sometimes taking a break as well). We never found it to be a problem at all. We just came back from a trip at the end of this August where we stayed at the Doubletree which is even farther away and we walked there and back at least twice a day as well in the summer heat. My husband timed it from the time we left the hotel until we got to the front gates and it was just over 20 minutes (and the Clarion is a bit closer). So it's definitely within walking distance. I'm one of those people that hate waiting for buses and shuttles though. I'd rather just spend the time walking.
