I have a double Eddie Bauer stroller that I bought about 3 years ago for around $170. Anyway I only used it while my DD's were 2 and a baby and I really want to sell it. A used children's store said they would probably give me around $60 to $70 for it?? Does anyone have any suggestions of a better way to sell it?? Or do you think that is a good price? Ebay is out because the stroller weighs a ton, I can't imagine how much shipping would be--By the way I really want to buy 2 of the Maclaren Volos so I am really looking to defray some of that cost. Any opinions or suggestions would be great! Thanks!

Quite frankly, I think I'd take what the store is offering you and consider myself lucky! I agree that Ebay is not a good alternative, due to shipping charges, etc. And you'd be lucky to get, maybe, on a good day, $50 at a yard sale. Clean it up REALLY good, and tell the store you won't take less than $70 and see what they say. If you really want to try getting more $$ for it, the only other alternative I can see would be selling it privately through the want ads......................P

I think thats a good price, especially when you consider your time in trying to get rid of it for a few dollars more.

You could try www.craigslist.org but I don't know that you would get much more for it - though maybe you could get $90 or so if it is pristine.

Unfortunately, Eddie Bauer strollers don't tend to hold their value as well as the pricier strollers (your Volos will hold their value better, though)!

I sold our Graco Double stroller a few years ago at a "Kids Sale" that our area puts on. You rent a space for $20 and you can only sell kids items. You should see the people line up for this. It is crazy. Anyway, mine also have the infant carrier and base with it and was in excellent condition. I ended up getting $125 for it (new it was about $225). I thought that was pretty good. You might also want to try a garage sale and if it doesn't sell for the price you want then bring it to a children's store. I have always made way more money on kids things in garage sales then what they give you a the childrens stores. One day I went in with a huge lot of kids clothes - they offered me $70 for everything. I told them know and put them in the garage sale and made about $300 instead. So, for me the kids store would be my last resort.

Thanks everyone for your advice, I think I am going to clean it up and take it to the resale shop, its definetly doing me no good sitting in my basement and $60-$70 is 2/3 of the money for a Volo! Feel better now that I think I am getting a fair price. I always feel like those places rip you off on clothes and I have much better luck on ebay its just a lot more work!

I am the manager of a children's and maternity resale shop www.othermothersresale.com that my mom owns. $60-$70 :earseek: is DEFINATELY a good price. We have never paid out that much on a stroller, but the reason for that is we keep our prices VERY low for our customers buying stuff. We'd probably sell the stroller for that price (if it were in *perfect* condition) and we pay out 45% of the selling price. So, consider yourself lucky to have found a shop that will pay you that amount! ;)

I also have not had alot of luck with resale shops with clothes or baby items. They don't pay. I have much better luck selling on ebay or having a garage sale. The resale shop wanted to give me $50.00 for a double peg pergo stoller. I sold it for $200.00 at a garage sale and orginially paid $300 +. I also sold a triplet peg pegro stoller online at the triplet connection website for $375.00 and originally paid $500+. Both strollers were used alot but were still in great condition.
Good Luck

I bought a NICE Graco side by side stroller off Ebay for $2.51 and paid 35.00 to ship it so I would def. take it to a shop and sell it because I know the seller was not expecting it to go that cheap..I would not take my chances on e-bay!! BUT I am glad the seller did!!! I LOVE MY STROLLER!!!!

Another option is to do ebay, but set a reserve price (so that the stroller won't go for $2.50). ;)

I must agree that $60-70 is a great price.

I have a Peg-Perego double stroller in excellent condition. One of the canopies is still in the orginal plastic. This was a $300+ stroller. I could not sell it for $75 at a garage sale. I see that even on Ebay they are selling at a high price and the whole shipping this isn't worth it.

I'm going to hold onto in for this summer's garage sale and if it doesn't sell I'll donate it.
