Has anyone seen lightning bugs/fireflies in Kansas or Missouri yet?

Crazy question I know!! But we are driving to Kansas City, MO this weekend (05/18-05/20) and my son has never seen them! It's actually on my bucket list for my kiddos to see lightning bugs! LOL!! Just wondering if we should be looking for them, or if it's too early yet...

Scratch that - took the dog for a walk about an hour ago & there were about a dozen in the yard

I'm in the same area-ish as dolewhipdreams just on the KS side. I haven't seen them quite yet.
