Steve and I are deciding between 300 or Premonition to see tonight. Trying to see which is better.

Thanks!

We saw 300 this past Tuesday. We liked it. Bloody, and a bit gruesome at times, but it's not like horror film gore...more like "stylized violence" if that makes any sense. Don't go expecting historical accuracy, however. I did enjoy seeing this one on the big screen, I don't think waiting until rental would have capture the enormity of the situation at hand, but that's of course a personal choice. :)

I haven't seen Premonition, but reading several reviews from various people online, it seems like it's pretty predicatable. I think that will be a "wait until it's a rental" for me.

I did wind up writing a rather amusing review (if I may say so myself :lmao:) on my blog about 300. There were various times in the movie that kept triggering off "giggle to myself" moments...all in good fun, though.

I do know that 300 is the "talk of the political town" so to speak. "Iran" has publicly said bad things about it.

Perhaps that will sway you to see it. ;)

We just saw 300 today. It was a bit slow at times for me. I like epics and I really love action movies and it wasn't quite either for me. It was good, but not the best movie I've seen in that genere. I am not 100% sure that I would recommend it. Not horrid though if you aren't expecting intense action.

Haven't seen Premonition though. I guess the reviews for that one isn't all that good.

Hmmm...300 definitely is the kind of film we like but I wasn't too impressed with the previews. Premonition looks really cool but I feel as though I'll be disappointed based on the reviews I read online.

I'm so indecisive. :rotfl:

If it makes you feel any better, I wasn't impressed with the previews for 300 either, and I enjoyed it. It really does seem like those movies that people enjoy more than they expected to, or they didn't enjoy it as much as they expected (all based on the previews).

Okay you sold me on it. So I'll be coming to complain here if we don't like it. ;) (kidding!)

Thanks!

As much as I wasn't 100% a fan of 300, the previews of the movie really didn't do it justice. it was far better than the previews made it out to be IMO.

That and for me all the half nekkie guys made up for a lot ;) (for those into women, there is enough of that as well ;))

OOooohh yes. YUMMY!! I love Gerard Butler. And we get to see that cute behind of his in the movie.

We went to a late night showing of it, so there was only us and a few other couples in the theatre. You should have heard all the women (myself included) when Gerard Butler showed his butt.... :lmao:

:rotfl: I figured you would appreciate that ;)

There was hardly a sole when we went this morning (11am showing) but I think the couple behind us liked both aspects of the movie for the guys and the gals :teeth: (which is why I edited to add in about the women... just in case others who didn't care for men were reading)

I'm not near as much of a fan of Gerard Butler. I did really like David Wenham though. His voice and body combined makes for a great actor to have in a movie ::yes::

I like David Wenham as well. I love his more uunique sound to his voice, but it sounded somewhat "odd"...like he was trying to sound all tough almost, but it came out sounding strained in a way.

I guess I didn't notice that. To me he sounded just as he did when I first liked him in LOTR: TT. I thought he was the perfect choice for the narrator of sorts in the movie.

I think with a movie like that, producers realize they have to add some sort of incentive for the ladies out there who would not have been interested in seeing it with their SO, otherwise. ;)

I think you are right! All the women I saw there were with their SOs. I would've seen it my DH or not, but like I said I love action and epics. I guess the shots of the ladies are just a bonus for some as well. Sex and war movies are such draws for men sometimes. Seems like the producers got a bit of something for everyone in this one.

Actually I personally am more about action movies than I am chick flicks, so I would have wanted to see it regardless of DH wanting to or not...regardless of "incentive". The eye candy was merely a bonus. :lmao: Yup, I went with my DH, but then again, I don't really go to the movies with anyone else.

But I do agree that for the majority of women, it's unlikely they would be inclined to see a movie like this were it not for that "incentive."

Okay I'm going to swing by his house to pick him up, then dinner at the cheesecake factory and movie time!

I'll let you both know how we like it. Thanks for the help!! :teeth:

We both really enjoyed it! And I loved eating my cheescake from the cheesecake factory during the beginning of the movie. :rotfl:

I was surprised at how much I liked it..could have done away with some of the killing. :scared: And I liked how it ended.

But you both didn't warn me about the ****s. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:
