DH and DS(3) are heading to WDW next month, and are thinking of taking the train from Mass. I thought it would be fun to get them a mustang convertable as their rental car but I'm not sure which companies have them. If you have gotten a 'stang, what was your rate for a week?

TIA!

I have seen them at Hertz and Budget. Not cheap and they have NO luggage space... (I drive a Saab convertible and it's trunk is small... the Mustang's trunk is even smaller)

We rented a Sebring Convertible in February and loved it. It was very roomy, enough room in the trunk for our luggage. It was reasonable through Alamo. We looked into the Mustangs and they were double and triple the price! Good Luck!

Only ever rented convertibles from Alamo and National (prices was way better)

The problem is the train station. I know Hertz is there anyone else?

Hertz is the only one I know of that is at the Amtrak station. Thanks for the info though!

Didn't rent a convertible, but a Mustang, and with only 2 people, we had to put luggage in the back seat (wouldn't all fit in the trunk) which is very small. Wouldn't want to have to put a child back there. Just something to think about.

Hertz had fantastic rates last fall but they aren't so great this year.

Hi. I own a mustang you will have no problem with two people with luggage. We can fit two suitcases ( the upright style w/ wheels ) in the trunk.Mine is not a convertable, but we also have a Trans AM convt and we can fit suitcases in there also. It is though like putting a puzzle together.

Just remember that if you child is little he will have to sit in the back due to the airbag and if they travel at any sorta highway speeds they will more than likely have to have to top up because the people in the back get hammered with wind.

Well, it doesn't really have to be a convertable - just a 'stang. They'll only have 1 suitcase and a backpack so trunk space is a non-issue. I didn't think about the wind in the back seat issue though! My son likes wind in his hair, but not that much wind, lol! Thanks guys...

Car rental at the train station is limited to certain vehicles available. In order to rent a mustang you will probably have to rent from the airport location.

Good luck!
