I just can't wrap my head around that it's as great as "they" say. BUT... the realistic side of me says that if it's that pricey and yet so popular, long lasting - there must be a reason. I have a friend to says we HAVE to go at least once. My only problem is giving up 2 TS for it. But, I'm willing to consider it, does anyone have some regrets though... or words of encouragement to go?

Thanks.:goodvibes

I have done HDD twice and not regretted either. I think it is an awesome show, and the food is good too. And we will probably go again the next time we go to wdw. I think it is one of those things that you have to do at least once. Go for it!

To put it simply, no!
It was great fun and the food was really tasty too, with plenty for everyone. It's just a shame we've already booked all our TS' for this year already :(

Yeah I kinda hated giving up 2 credits for it too. But my friend insisted we all go--by we I mean our 16 person adventure to WDW @Easter of '07. He is a DVC member and talked up going to HDDR ever since we all decided to take him up on his offer to put us up at Disney. Well the food was great, the show was good and hokey, corny, whatever... Will we go again? --Yes. Hope you have a great time.

We ate there two weeks ago and loved it! My experience on the DDP is that you eat so much table service, that to have a two ts place somewhere in your trip is nice, it will give you a chance one day to not be eating a sitdown and catch up on your cs and snack credits!

But back to HDDR, we enjoyed the show, the food and I haven't seen my family of four laugh that hard in a long time. Like most things at WDW, its expensive, so my best advice is don't spend too much time analyzing the cost and just have fun. The food was very good, it wasn't gourmet but it was still very good. The service is great in that they have three shows each night so they have to be efficient and run on schedule. This is one meal you won't have to sit around and wait for your food to arrive.

I say give it a try, I am so glad we did. And we paid out of pocket and had to pay for it weeks in advance and I still wasn't sorry!

I might add that we are going back to WDW in three weeks and my husband and kids wanted to go again, just five weeks after the last time! But I said we'd go next year to spread it out a bit.

I love this show, but not everyone does. The food is not gourmet - it's more quantity than quality.:rotfl: So if you are looking for food that reflects the price, you'll be sorely dissapointed. However, seeing the ages of your kids, they will love both the food and the show. And if you're a drinker, the all you can drink beer and white zin will make the show that much better! The audience participation is great and it's a little bawdy in a family-friendly disney way.

I would not reccommend this show for a group of 20 something guys, nor for a couple of DINKS looking for a dining experience. Most others will find something appealing about it.

I've probably gone a half dozen times since we started going to Disney in the 70's. It's always so much fun. I took DH during our honeymoon and he loved it too!

We were there in Jan '08. My DH and I thought the food was horrible. The ribs were very tough. Only chicken legs and wings. But, we continue to go for the show which is GREAT!!!

No regrets here! I went as a kid - probably in the early 80's, and it was something I always remembered. DH and I went to HDDR approx. 6-7 years ago, and loved it! The food is good, and the show is a lot of fun. It is not something I would do every trip, but would probably return every 10 years or so.

We will be going for our 3rd time in June so I guess we kinda like it.. :)

No regrets from us.

I only went because I wanted to take my kids to it. I'm glad we did go. It was silly but we all laughed. It was a lot better than I expected. My kids LOVED it and want to go back. It really was worth it for us. And to top it off when we got there they picked DD to be the bell ringer announcing dinner was ready.

Went twice before and loved it. We have ADR's for Sept. and are on the DDP but going to pay OOP for this one and use the 2TS each and go to Coral Reef and last day breakfast at Crystal Palace.
Now you do get a app., entree, dessert and all the beer or wine you can drink plus the show and tip and tax is included.

We did it OOP because it was before the dining plan. And it was great! It was our first night there.

We went once. No one enjoyed the food much or the show. Nothing wrong with it, but just not what we or the kids enjoyed, so yes we were disapointed.

:thumbsup2 Another thumbs up here too! Adult mother/daughter guests last year and we LOVED it. It was one of the highlights of our trip! I thought it was a great show, better than expected- food, and great service! Will definitely do again this year.

I was getting ready to move along & not post, because I didn't want to be the lone voice dissension. :o We didn't like the food either. The service was severely lacking. We enjoyed the show more than the food, but it lasted a little too long for our liking.

ETA: Like has been stated, it is something you should try for yourself. You never know, until you've tried it.

My advice...go for it! You will more than likely love it! My family of 5 did, and we are going back to see it again in Sept :cool1:

Definitely do it once and see for yourself. My husband and kids LOVED it, I thought it was OK. I think it's a personality thing. I think if you can really let yourself go and embrace it you really get a lot out of it. I'm a bit more reserved (plus I was the only one who knew what we paid out of pocket to be thee). I don't regret it, I might even do it again someday, just not every trip for us.

Liking the show depends on one's tolerance for bad puns and cornball humor. If you have the money to try it, by all means.

I saw the show several times in the early nineties. Has anything in the script changed at all?
