Im particularly interested in the 14 day 5 park Orlando FlexTicket, and the 5 day Premium (non expire) Disney Hopper Pass.

My question......

Please can you have a look at the small print on the tickets and tell me if there is a "ticket must be first used before...." date.

Reason I ask, is that I want to buy my tickets now, but the vendor I have (due to gift vouchers) to purchase them from has a "date of holiday" box on their website, and when I put in a 2006 date, it just tells me that there arent any tickets available yet for that date, and in fact will only let me proceed to buy them if I enter 30/12/2005 or earlier.

From memory, I think the Universal tickets might have a first-use date, but Im pretty sure the Disney ones don't, but obviously I need a firm confirmation of this from someone here before I lie about my departure date to get the tickets now.

So, has anyone specificaly bought either of these tickets recently ?

I think they are open ended - but if you buy a 14 day disney - or a flex ticket then they expire 14 days after the first visit to the first park - ie the day they are activated.

TO be honest if you're not going until next year I'd wait (IMHO) - we booked in 04 and were hanging on for the £199 2 week disney ticket offer that usually happens in January - and what do you know Disney introduce new tickets and we get 3 weeks for £173!!!!

Universal are always doing offers and some sites do buy adult flex get child flex free at certain times of year. I think we've already had the price rise this summer so it shouldn't go up for 12 months

Just my 2 cents...

There is a specific reason why I have to buy the tickets as soon as possible, but not one I can go into on here I am afraid.

I know about the ticket usage/expiry policies, but I specificaly need to know about "use before" dates (ie do they have any)....I really need someone to physicaly look at the tickets and check for me, as I would rather not buy the tickets and find Ive wasted my money....and as stated, I have to buy them as soon as possible.

I have the 7 day Premium (non expiry) tickets and there is definitely no 'use by' date on there. Can't help with the flex ticket, I'm afraid - unfortunately, I have just disposed of last year's as I could have looked on there for you.

Hi.
My DH and I are going to Orlando in May 2006.
We have bought our tickets already to spread the costs.
We have 14 day Ultimate Disney tickets and 4 park flex tickets. There are no expiry dates on either. I checked with the ticket company before buying to make sure!
Hope this helps.

Shelly.

Thanks for the replies so far....

Heres where I have to get the tickets from... http://www.travelcare.co.uk/holidayextras/attractions/shop/category.asp?catid=34&tcaffid=1

Its not the cheapest of places, but I have to wonder why they are asking for the date in the firstplace...I wonder if there are tickets that can be bought that have a first use by date on them....Im sure Ive had a Universal Flex ticket in the past thats had a date on it....

I suppose the answer is to ask travelcare themselves, but I suspect whoever I ask wont actualy know the answer and will just take a guess.

Check out this site for tickets - this is where we got ours from.
It seems cheaper!

Just checked on mine from last Christmas & there is no 'use by' date on them :)

There's certainly no use by date on the Disney passes,as mentioned the stopclock starts from first activation.Sorry can't help with the Flex pass as we have never been issued actual passes! We have always had a letter which we have had to hand over at the Park reception in exchange for passes.Depending on how many vouchers you have?!What about buying your Disney passes now & using the vouchers for the Flex passes?

I think thats pretty much what i'm going to do.

We actualy already have our Disney Passes with 4 days remaining for our forthcoming May trip, but Im going to buy some more anyway, and use them in subsequent years.
If they come and they do end up having 31/12/05 dates on them, I can always sell them on Ebay or let someone on here have them for a fair price (they will have cost me nothing!).

I have just found last year's Flex tickets in a drawer - see, not throwing things away comes in useful sometimes :rotfl:

They have an issue date stamped ont he back but no 'use by' date. There is space on the back for name, signature and valid through date but this date was filled in when we actually used it the first time.

I hope this helps you.

Tron if you're buying your tickets now (Disney) I'd check out a couple of the Uk sites: attractionticketdirect.com,best4attractions,tickets4fun.... a few of them were doing a 7 day for the price of a 5 coming in at £148,obviously you would have to upgrade to non-expiry when you get to the parks or Ticketmania (we've just ordered from them) & have the passes with the non-epiry on them - to be honest there was only a couple of pounds between that option & waiting!

Hi there,

We used Mercury Travel and their website asked for our holiday date - when queried with them they stated it was so they could prioritise who to send tickets to first. I checked with them about "use before" and "expiry" and they assured me there was none.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for offering alternative sites, but as I stated in my first post, its a gift voucher type situation, so I am tied to them.

The vouchers cost me nothing, so i dont mind paying extra anyway.

I usualy use undercovertourist though.

Tron - I think the reason they ask for your departure date is so they can send them out as near to that as possible this has two benefits:
1 - you can't lose them/ have them stolen/ watch them burn in ahouse fire...
2 - they get your money up front but then don't have to buy the tickets until just before you need them... helps their cash flow

A few people on these boards have brought forward their departure date when applying for tix so they can have them in their hands straight away - me I don't want to risk losing them :0)

I think you should be fine to order them with a fake departure date - I'm 99% sure they don't expire until you have activated them. Just guard them with your life!!!!!
