Has Anyone Received a Third Dose

Thank you for posting this. It prompted me to do some digging, and indeed Ontario has revised the guidance a bit for third doses for the immunocopromised, to make ti easier. The new recommendations are here: https://health.gov.on.ca/en/pro/pro...VID-19_vaccine_third_dose_recommendations.pdf They include "Table 1" which lists the qualifying medications by name [instead of just type, which is what they were listed as before]. And now patients who are on one of those medications apparently don't need a letter from their doctor, they should be able to bring the prescription / medication package with Rx label with them to the vaccine centre to get the third dose. Good new from me as I do not yet have the letter from my MD, but I certainly have a copy of my Rx and lots of the labeled medication packages :-) I will be off to the pharmacy this weekend for dose 3. So, THANK YOU !!!!
I am pretty much a lurker on here, rarely post, so I am glad I did and that I helped someone! The timing just worked out for me as I had my 6mth appointment within a week of the third dose requirements changing. First in person 6mth-er since fall of 2019 so that was nice too even though phone 'visits' are convenient. Stay well!

I had a 3rd dose. I'm from Ontario, but went to Montreal to get it. Symptoms were a bit worse than my 1st shot of Moderna and lasted a few days, but well worth it as we're heading out on a cruise in a couple of weeks.
Thanks for the information....can I as where in Montreal you were able to get your shot? Did you book it or just walk in? Thanks

In Alberta, if you have an international trip planned (US or otherwise), they will also allow you to have your 3rd shot. At least it was like this a few weeks ago. We were supposed to drive down to the US to get our kids SSN's and they allowed us to get our third shot.
Yes, and honestly, the walk-in clinics at pharmacies aren't even asking why you want one - they are administering them upon request. I've got no travel booked until February 2022 and was able to get my third shot (2nd of Moderna after an initial dose of AZ) on September 30.

Montreal convention centre. Just walk in. Make sure they know it's a 3rd dose for travel. From another person's experience, I would not try to do this unless your travel date is relatively close or you could be turned away. Not my experience, but my travel date was within a month of receiving the 3rd dose.

I had AZ/Pfizer. Yesterday I received a third dose, also Pfizer. I live in Ontario and qualified due to one of the medications I take.

Ontario modified their guidance for third doses on October 7 to make it easier for those who are eligible due to certain medications to get their third dose. Previously you needed a letter/form from your doctor. Now, the guidance includes a table of medications. If your medication is on that list, then you can bring proof you are on it (copy of Rx, or medication packaging with pharmacy label with your name on it) to a vaccination clinic and get your third dose. If you are on a qualifying medication that is not listed in the table you still need to get a letter/form from your physician.

I went to the pharmacy I get my Rx from so I didn't actually need to show my "proof" (which I had with me) as they know me and my meds and that I am eligible and why. YMMV. Also learned that you had to have at least two months between second and third doses.

At just under 24 hours in, upper arm is sore, and I am tired and have a mild headache and maybe a bit achy, so a take it easy day. But compared to dose 1 and 2 which both landed me in bed for a good 36+ hours with fever, muscle aches, headache, etc, I am feeling pretty good this time around !!
