Has anyone ordered adult QS meals for their kids when using QS DP?

Hi, title says it all. I have an upcoming trip and we're 2 adults, 2 children. If we're at a QS that has kids meals, can they still order an adult meal or has to be kids? Thanks.

If you order an adult meal they will subtract an adult meal from your plan, doesn't matter who is eating it. If you want hem to eat adult meals you have to by dining plan for all four of you.

QS meals are not split into adult and child so you can order whatever meal you like

That's why I'm asking. I thought you could order it now but the pamphlet hasn't changed...I just saw some posts where people ordered at BOG so I'm guessing it's the same at all others too. Thanks!

Seems unfair to charge less for a child for the same meal unless it were a buffet, especially considering the price difference between adult and child on the dining plan

So I have the dinning plan and my daughter can order anything from a QS meal and it won't subtract as one of my meals? Just want to make sure. We are on our way there now and she would prefer not the typical kids type meals.

All QS meals are pooled together with no restrictions. So there is no 'her QS' and 'your QS'.

If Disney is willing to allow their own system to be "unfair" toward them every once in a while, that's okay with me.

To be clear, the brochure and terms still, even today, state that children must order off the children's menu. This has been enforced in the past by training employees to not allow you to purchase more adult meals at one time than there are adults on the reservation. Just because there's a loophole in Disney's implementation doesn't make it right to exploit.

Now, there are reports that Disney is no longer enforcing that rule. But it's still written, and you can use your own moral compass to do what you believe is right.

I just got back. Before we went we knew they just changed the plan to QS credits are all the same. That turned out to be true. I ordered adult the whole week. The did not ask or care. Most of the time the kids are at the table with DH and we took turns coming up to get our food. I would get mine and DD4's adult entrees. They're in the system as all the same credits. Use them to your advantage and get the adult entrees. At AoA they had Smucker's Uncrustables as a side/dessert choice, so i got that for DD4 a few times as the dessert part, then i ate her entree, shared with her, or DH ate it.

QS credits have always been in grouped together; that is not new. The brochure has always, and still does, state that children must order from the children's menu. The only thing that might have changed is enforcement of the rule. There were always ways to get around it.

I only ordered one kids meal for my son all week, otherwise it was adult. But my bff and I often shared and then the kids shared another adult meal and DH got his own, so we were never ordering more than 3 meals at a time.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know!

For the most part, kids eat kid food but sometimes it's nice to be able to mix it up. Not trying to argue "fair" or not, just want to know what I can do. I think most people would argue that it's not "fair" to charge a 10 yr old adult prices, but rules are rules and if I can make my credits last a little longer this trip, great. My dd is 9 so this will probably be the last year for a while that we get the dining plan anyway.

And ... we're now allowed to talk about it on the DIS. This used to be a verboten subject.

And yes, 7 years ago when we were on the DDP and my DD was a Disney Child I would use her credits for adult meals when there was nothing she would be able to eat at a specific restaurant. For instance, she's a vegetarian and while my DH and I chomped on ribs at Flame Tree, she would have the fruit salad instead of the kid's chicken leg.

I too have heard for many years that the credits are pooled together and it is not really tracked for adult/vs child. I am sure there were times when we got an adult menu item for our kids when they were a "child." There were also many trips where we never used all or our credits and often would not get the dessert on the CS lunch since it was just going to go to waste. I guess overall, it probably ended up being even. We love having the DP but about 1/3 of the way through each trip, we remind ourselves that is is way too much food. It is funny to see how we start out getting the biggest meal available with all the expensive options, and by the time we are done with out trip, we are asking who wants to share a meal.
