My sister-in-law called me tonight to say that she had received a free companion voucher to fly to Orlando. She said it was from Disney visa and it said that she could pay for one plane ticket and get one free. She said there was 100 people that are suppose to get the voucher. The voucher is good through Nov. 2006. Has anyone else received one?

but it's not much of a deal in that for me to fly from indiana to orlando, i have to purchase a $320 ticket, then get the second one "free". i think we were looking at tickets on-line for about $160/person, so this is no savings (unless we try to book within the month before, perhaps?---you have to purchase tix at least 2 weeks before travel).....

take care,

I agree...not much of a deal. We have to buy a $280 ticket :earseek: to get one free (it goes by region of US and whether you are flying to FL or CA). It wasn't just 100 people, though. :confused3 It was an offer in my Disney Visa that stated if you spent $600 in June/July (?) then you got the voucher. They didn't give specifics on how much the tickets were or anything until AFTER you spent the $600. I can get better rates myself.

$600...mine said spend $400 to get the voucher. Interesting info on the price of the tickets. Wonder what ours will be...since I know we always have good deals to Orlando from Providence or Boston.

Got mine yesterday....You are in Zone 1 like me and its 280 plus taxes.....can do better with SW or Jet Blue etc. but still if prices go up might be useful. Have to order voucher and then book and travel before Nov 15, 2006. Hope this helps. :earsgirl:

Thanks for the info. We're planning on traveling before Nov. 15, 2006 so that's not a problem. I'll be doing some pricing to see if it'll be worth spending $280+ or buying separate tickets.

Got mine too! If it works like it's suppose to, or if flights are available it will be a great deal for us. Planning for May 06 trip, so going to call soon and see! I will post when I find out.

That's the same price that my sister-in-law was offered flying out of indiana also. We felt that that was a good deal being we had just paid 228 per ticket when we flew this past June. Actually in June that was a good deal beings a friend of mine had to pay 299 later that month.

The average price for tickets out of Columbus, OH is about $200. You can get deals for less and a lot of times they want more. We paid $148 total for each for our July trip. That's about as cheap as they get. So this would not be too bad.

Can you order the voucher and then choose not to use it?

The wife and I both received one. It's not a good deal for me. If you read the fine print, it does not include taxes and fees! So that's $140 +/- $30. I'm flying SWA next month for $115 total. If it fits your situation great. For me they are just more junk mail.
