I have one on my nose and the doctor talked about freezing it off a few years ago, but I decided not to do it. Now, every time I bump it, it starts bleeding. My insurance starts on Sunday and I'm thinking about having it done.....just wanted to find out if it hurts at all.

I had a couple of moles removed last Sept, and never had a problem. PCP removed them right there in the office. She cut them off to biopsy them. No stitches, just a little bandaid.
Everything was fine. DH had a wart removed from the bottom of his foot, and they froze it off. He went back to work the next AM with no problems.

cool....I can be a sissy when it comes to that type of pain (sharp....not dull aches......I can deal with a broken bone more easily than a bad cut or scrape, for some reason.)

I had a mole frozen off. Piece of cake but it came back!

I chop off skin tags on my own. They sting for a bit, but eventually they stop bleeding. I haven't had any moles removed so I can't help you there.

Wow, how strange to see this thread today. I went to the doctor yesterday and asked about having a tag taken off my face. It appeared about a month ago and is under my right eye. She gave me a referral to the dermatologist and said it was NBD (no big deal) :p . Being the coward that I am, it's comforting to know that others have had it done and agree with the doctor.

Guess I'll make that appointment.

From what I remember - just a little stinging and the site is red for a few days. It depends on how deep the mole is - but it really isn't a big deal - You'll be glad when it's gone.::yes::

It's good to know I'm not the only one who's a little skittish about it :)

Moles, and a growth removed, and yes there are NO big deal.:o The most recent one, was on my right arm, and it started out as a skin tag, and grew, and grew, and grew. Anyway, I had it removed in June, and its all healed now, just a slight pink bump, that I hope will go away.:p

I had one removed from my hip. It did not hurt and it was red, sore, and itchy for a few days after that. I thought the whole procedure was great. They say is a mole changes shape or bleeds you should definitely have it looked at. Go for it!! :earsgirl:

Gosh-are we related? First the colonoscopy and now this.
I have several tag moles. I recommend against getting them
frozen because sometimes they heal instead of fall off. If you
get them cut off then cauterized, they are gone immediately.
Also, most insurance does not cover tag mole removal, it's considered cosmetic.

Shortbun, well I'm actually hoping that since it's bleeding they might cover it.

My dermatologist has removed several little tags/bumps from my face - usually by freezing but has cut a couple that came back. It did not hurt, but I wouldn't do it just before an important event as it will be kind of red. My insurance did pay for it. They did not pay for removing red spider veins (from rosacea) though.

I had a mole removed on my face, they used a laser to do it, gave me a local first, it really did not hurt, and they did biopsy, it was fine. It really was no big deal, and I am a wimp.....

You might want to check with the doctor first, but our insurance will not pay for removing them anymore, they are now classified as "cosmetic". I had to pay almost $200 for a tiny one removed! I have had several frozen by the dermatologist and none have come back, it is relatively painless. I did buy the compound W freeze off awhile back and it did work for two small ones on my neck but I don't think I would fool around with that near my eyes or anywhere on the face.

I had one removed from my nose and now you can not see where it was, there was no pain. Except for removing the band-aide, that hurt more than the digging..
