I would love to join Facebook so that I could see a picture of little Ferris, but my 21 year old daughter said that she would disown me if I had a Facebook account. I guess she doesn't want me checking up on her!

You can join facebook and NOT have any access to whatever your daughter is looking at. She has to confirm you as a friend and give you access... Talk it out with her and agree that you will have your friends and she can have hers...

BTW... the largest group of people joining Facebook in the last year is over the age of 30.... All those friends from high school keep coming back...

Oh, I know. Believe me, I hear about it every time one of my daughter's aunts or a friend's parent asks to be her Facebook friend. I just tell her to ignore their request. I just know how she feels about people my age (over 50) being on Facebook, and I will just have to respect her wishes and not join in on the fun. As it is, I have way too many message boards that I read every day, I think the last thing I need is one more website to check out! Maybe one of these days I will luck out and be in WDW when Corey, Julie and little Ferris are there, and I will get to see them in person!

All my DD20's friends have friended me, so it does her no good to not friend me herself...I get to see all the pics anyway!

I tell her that she has to remember that what she posts there is seen not only by me, but by the world. Doesn't stop her from doing and posting some really dumb things, though.

yep! But remember everyone, go to settings--> privacy AND profile ---> settings.

What you post can be seen on ALL your friend's walls if you are not set right. Or same about what they post and so on. BUT if you really want to be more private, you can.


For me, DD is ok with it. She is a teen and I will not let her have an account unless I can see it anytime I want, there are way too many creeps out there! Not by far 100% teen proof I know, but keeps us on the same page.

Check your settings people. Make sure what you post is ok for anyone to see. That is the safest bet

Oh my gosh, Ferris is beautiful! That is a great picture of him with Julie.

The funny part about my daughter and Facebook is that she is in a sorority in college and supposedly their Facebook pages are checked regularly to make sure that there aren't things on there that would make the sorority look bad. They aren't even allowed to have a picture of themselves holding a SOLO cup because it is assumed that there is alcohol in it!!! Many of them have been brought before standards because of things on their page. So, I know that there wouldn't be anything too bad on hers...plus she pulls it up from time to time to show me things. She just thinks it would be weird if her mom had a Facebook page. Whatever!
