cinderella's castle is supposed to be decorated as is for the whole 18 month long 50th anniversary happiest celebration on earth.
which includes during our wdw wedding next year, i'm so disappointed with the castle we really wanted to do the magic kingdom bridal portraits with the fabulous original mk castle, we dont like the plaque & overall decor, so we will be missing out sadly on this bridal photo oppurtunity.
Do not give up on the MK Portrait Session so easily.
The front of the castle with the decorations is not the greatest that the castle has ever looked, but the back of the castle, the inside of the castle, cinderella's royal table, and cinderella's carousel are not decorated.
It could be worse though, the castle could be a pepto bismol birthday cake.
I want to know how they are going to do these bridal photos. It will definately be intersting. On the up-side, you are getting an once in an 18 month chance/ lifetime chance...right?
Personally, I'm excited about the Castle! We're having our MK pics taken on Nov 3, 2005 and I'm happy that the Castle will be so unique and pretty for our pics (I like the gold accents and the "mirror")!
Oh I want to get my session booked!!>?!?! Virgin STILL haven't come back to me so I just called Disney - and trust my luck the girl was on voicemail - but she did give me her email address so I've just sent her a message asking about availbility.
We really want our session on November 17 - I hope it's not booked...
I don't know what it looks like for an MK shoot, but I was just down there in March and was SOOOO impressed with how gorgeous the castle looks. We got some pics that it is just SO pretty in!
I think it's ALOT better than the Birthday cake one. We have our MK photo shoot already booked and I was just wondering what the pics will look like with the new castle. I think it will look nice.
I was told that no one is sure how Disney DPS is going to handle it. They may take the pictures from the back like they did for the 25th. They will know in May what the story is. Now that I think about it, I wouldn't mind doing a combination of the two.
The MK session takes about an hour and a half. The photographer will pick you up at 6 AM in the lobby of your resort and drive you backstage to the castle. We took pics for about an hour and then headed back. Afterward, we had breakfast at the concierge lounge, packed up the car and still made it to the MK shortly after it opened.
JonetteA - fyi dps only allows one portriat session a day. so you would have to do the mk & epcot or whatever combination photo sessions on seperate days. the pick up's for the those photo sessions are both at 6:45am in your hotel lobby to the park photo location.
Does anyone know the exact amount of pictures you receive for the MK photo shoot? Do you get copies of all that are taken? I've heard the reprints are EXTREMLY EXPENSIVE!
You do get roofs" of all the photos taken, which on average is around 55-70, depending upon your photographer. The proofs are 4x5 prints. They do not say proof on them, but they are also not retouched in any way. They select 12 from the stack and place those in the album (which is white and has the FTW logo on the front in gold), and place the rest in a plastic envelope, within a box.
