Has anyone had bubble tea?

A bit. I find it disgusting but I know a lot of people like it.

It's different! And I don't like it is all I'm going to say. It is pretty popular around here though so I must be one of the few that doesn't care for bubble tea.

The tapioca pearls are chewy, but the rest of it is just like a normal drink. I love it!

I LOVE bubble tea! Love, love, love it!

The tapioca pearls are flavorless and you suck them up through a fat straw. It's just a cool thing to do. What's really good are the different flavored milk teas you can get.

Oops, I stopped to answer the phone and then posted on the wrong thread...I always thought it was silly when that happened to people but now it has happened to me!

Anyway I like bubble tea, but honestly I usually ask for no tapioca--I guess that defeats the purpose. It's just a little too chewy for me.

So...they're flavorless? What's the point? I don't need to chew my drink. I've never had one, though, so I can't really comment on taste. Maybe the chewing burns calories!:rotfl2:

I've only had bubble tea once. I didn't care for the tapioca...to me, the combination of "flavorless" and "chewy" in my drink isn't one that I find overly appealing. :confused3

But hey, more power to anyone who digs it! :thumbsup2

I never heard of bubble tea until I read about it here.
I'm intrigued but have always had a problem with foreign objects in my drink gagging me,ie. tea leaves, coffee grounds...
Can't decide if I should try it.

Lychee bubble tea is my fav. When we dine out it usually is Vietnamese so I get to have it often yummo!

I have a tag about bubble tea. :teeth:

Needless to say, I'm not a fan.

I LOVE bubble tea. I always get one at the quick service in China at World Showcase... I believe they call it Bobo tea or something similar, and it is regular chai tea with the tapioca. :thumbsup2

My dad used to call tapioca pudding -frogs eyes. I think bubble tea might make me think of big bullfrog eyes!

Absolutely LOVE bubble tea!!

First-timers should be careful when sucking it through the big straws as the 'bubbles' which are the tapioca pearls will come flying up the straw and hit the back of your throat and you can choke. Sip carefully!

My uncle owns St. Louis Bubble Tea (in St. Louis, of course). I could hide away and live in the shops and live off of bubble tea alone!

I love the smoothies themselves, but don't need all of the tapioca pearls they give. Fresh fruit and milk tea ones are the best; I've had some really nasty ones that were made from powders and concentrates. And I've never found the the pearls to be flavorless--they taste like caramel to me...

I never knew about this...will have to try it the next time I'm in WDW!! I love Bubble Tea! :lovestruc

I had it once and I liked it. However, after a while of chewing the pearls, I started to not like it. I think if there were just a few of them, I would be ok, but I was starting to get a headache from them. I get the same way if I eat too many gummi bears.

I like bubble tea every once in a while. I always order the largest pearls available. My favorite flavors are mango and coconut.

The worst is when they don't cook the tapioca long enough and they are hard in the middle. I've had that happen before. Yuck!
