Has Anyone had a Waitlist Come Through Recently

We’ve had 2 RIV waitlist requests for months and nothing. Just cancelled one of the reservations the other day and went with SSR instead.
It seems weird. I stalk several times a day and there seems to be at least a little movement in terms of availability at most resorts but there doesn’t ever seem to be any sort of availability for any dates for riviera.

I agree. There seems to be no movement there at all. Very strange. We are RIV owners too, so it’s not like they have some list where they prioritize owners because we’ve never been successful on a RIV waitlist. And you would think there would be movement, because as they sell RIV contracts, shouldn’t they be releasing more rooms? We had two nights with RIV in nov and needed a third night. We finally just dropped it for SSR because we did not want to miss out on at least having a reservation. We also needed one night in July that still hasn’t come through. We tend to be successful on other waitlists.

I agree. We’re RIV owners too and I’ve gotten almost any other waitlist I’ve put in for including more difficult rooms to get like VGF studios. I was also hopeful that rooms would open up as they sold more points but it doesn’t seem to be happening. I also had to book a room at SSR this September because our waitlist at RIV hasn’t come through. I’m thinking about just canceling the two waitlists (one std view, one pref) so I can move on and make my May waitlist since there seems to be such little movement at RIV this fall. Glad to know it’s not just me!

We're RIV owners too. I missed booking at the 11 month mark by 2 weeks or so, so I ended up only being able to book a preferred studio rather than standard (which I would rather have) for President's Day weekend. There has been no movement for a while, but the crazy thing for me is that my waitlist request disappeared entirely from the website yesterday. What?? I got excited that it had come through--nope. It's just gone. Not sure what's going on with the RIV :rolleyes2

This morning, my waitlist at the Riviera disappeared too! Alas, it was for naught, as it reappeared a little later, so it wasn’t being processed. We changed dates due to the skyliner maintenance closure and are short one day.

That's not how it works. DVD declares a set number of rooms into the DVC system based on how many points they anticipate selling over a select time period. Once those points are close to selling out, they declare more rooms into DVC inventory and the process gets repeated until all points for the resort have been sold.

The last declaration was 1/15/2021 and represented three tower studios, two dedicated studios, two dedicated one-bedroom villas, eight lockoff two-bedroom villas, eight dedicated two-bedroom villas and one grand villa for a total of 465,100 points. You will not see a change in inventory for RIV until another declaration is made, not as additional contracts are sold.

How do you find out when they declare more rooms?

I just had a waitlist come through that I had no anticipation of acquiring.

Sat and Sun night BCV 2 bedroom villa to round out the end of my July trip. The email didn't go to the right person on the account so we almost missed it (not good with his phone emails lol). Regardless, so happy.

Our waitlist also came through yesterday for a GF studio lake view in August. I am so excited now. I can cancel the very expensive Lagoon View we booked for cash. I just wanted to stay at GF. Not sure how to add the requests for upper floor, nice balcony. In any case, just happy to be staying at GF for the first time.

I put in for a waitlist on one night at the Polynesian to fill a gap in a December trip. I placed the request in mid-March and it came through last week. No luck doing the same on Bay Lake Tower yet.

Right, but there is more than one declaration a year right? I mean aren’t they periodically declaring? It seems like last year they did it at least 3xs during the year.

There's no predetermined schedule. Declarations are done on an as needed basis. If sales are sluggish (and by some reports they are) then another declaration may not occur for months.

A one night waitlist at SSR over Labor Day weekend came through. Now my son and grandson have a three night stay. :thumbsup2

I can’t modify an existing reservation without an error, but my one-night waitlist for March came through…

I have a split stay scheduled MLK weekend. I started with 2 nights at OKW and 2 nights at Jambo.

I waitlisted OKW to a standard view studio at Boardwalk and it came through last week. I'm psyched!

I also waitlisted to change my Jambo standard view studio to a value studio, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

American Airlines just changed both of my flights for my 50th anniversary trip, basically cutting a full day out on Oct. 2nd. Wish me luck getting a studio for the 2nd to 3rd! I have a request in for AKL Jambo on my dad's contract (in exchange for the night I got him in December) and requests in for AKL Kidani and Saratoga on my own. I figured those would be the most likely to have a studio open up due to their size?

BCV 2 bd for Dec 18-19 came through a couple weeks ago, but still WLed for Dec 26-27 (that night is seriously popular and has been for months in all 2bds).

GF 1 bedroom standard waitlist came through for August. Hoping my waitlist for 2 bedroom standard comes through at GF then i can release the 1 bedroom.
