Has anyone got their summer 2005 quote from DU yet???

As impatient as I am, I didn't want to settle for getting only one quote from a travel agent. I had heard good reviews of Mouse Ear Vacations and submitted a request for a quote last night. At 1:00 p.m. CST I received an email that the agent had secured the exact room I wanted #6634 (cat 6 for a cat 7 price) and the quote was $4265 for the June 4th sailing.

I guess I'm still in sticker shock since I had originally planned on cruising in October and i was getting the same room for $2764.

I have until Saturday to decide what to do.

I made my request with DU about three months ago but still have not heard a response.

I'm glad I went ahead and booked online first thing this morning. I put in a request with DU and was worried that being a first time client they would take repeat customers first. I got my 7/9 - Category 6 - Room 6056 for $6596.00. Disney's Online Reservation system now says it would be $7297! But my booking does say that Early Booking Discount was applied so I'm sure that's the difference in price.

I heard from DU and Disney is WAY over priced for this...it is cheaper to do the 14 day than the 7 day in July... Guess I am going at Spring break instead..
IMHO the ports are worth the extra $$$.

I submitted a request for a quote from DU late last week and haven't heard anything from them except for the email saying it would be a few hours after DCL opened up the ressies.

In the meantime, I called AllSeasTravel and they got back to me within about 2 hours and we were booked on the 7/9 Mexican cruise in Category 6, AND they're giving a $200 on-board credit!

We'll see when/what DU comes up with...

I've put in a couple of requests in the last week or so and no email back - but using client services and my reservation number got a quote which is better than the website was quoting ealier today.

Wendym where did you find your reservation number? I have had an acknowledgement e-mail from DU but there is no number as far as I can see.

When you first entered in the quote at the end you should have got an acknowledgement page with an id number - you use that along with the password to enter client services. I think there is also a way to do it on that page if you haven't the reservation number.

I still haven't heard a thing from DU. My sister was on hold with DCL for 2 hours (1:00-3:00) and secured her rooms, and then asked if I was showing yet as booked. They said no, so she 3 way called me into this and all the CAT 7 rooms were already gone, so I am now in a CAT 5. Mega bucks, but hey, it's a once in a lifetime thing. Still waiting to hear from DU though to see what they came up with. I have the onboard booking discounts from my other booking to transfer over.

I requested quote the first hour it was posted on this board last week, Merrie got right back to me, even clarfied what I needed. I also got the message to not worry today, they will get hold of us, very busy, and with what has happened today. You can see they know what they are talking about!! I was through to Castaway Club line just to be nosy and check prices at 1:10 PM. I now see the price is now$1200 more!! My faith is with DU and this site! I would think as a preferred Disney Travel Agency they got in and got what we all needed. I didn't feel comfortable booking mutlitple ressies and inflating prices for the rest of you. The waiting is getting to me. Come on DU, we are wearing out the refresh botton the computer!! I keep telling my kids that good things come to people who wait!!

I actually put in a request this morning (May 5!) and received a quote back from DU about 30 minutes ago. Alas, it was for a category 4 and we only wanted a 1 or 2. I just emailed DU back and told them to release the hold on the category 4 since we did not want it. It seems like quite a few people are getting quotes and holds from several different sources to insure they have at least one - so I would guess that a number of staterooms will open up when the holds on those expire.
