Has anyone gone to the Halloween Spooktacular this year?

I just wondered what it was like. We are planning a trip next year to DW and thought we might take a day off to go to Seaworld. I was wondering if it was worth it to go on a "Halloween" day or just go on a regular day. We have never been to Seaworld before and didn't know if the celebration might add to the trip. (my DS, who will be 6 is a huge halloween and fish/sea life fan.)

We went this year. I didn't find anything super spectacular. They gave out some candy, and there were characters around the park for photo opportunities. They did have an awesome Shamu show at night that was different from the daytime show.

Heck, it's free, so I shouldn't complain.

We went for the Shamu Spooktacular in 2002 - all the regular shows were there including some short Halloween themed shows, pumpkin patches, etc for photo ops., and a chance for kids to show off their costumes. The night-time Shamu show was great, too!

We'll probably go back to it next year as DD was only 13 months old last time and now she's into Halloween - she'll want to go!

As it's included with regular admission, you've nothing to lose!

went this past weekend and it was nice for safe trick or treating and they changed some of the shows a bit, didn't stay for the shamu night show. we had gone on tuesday and so saturday was our 2nd day free day and saturday was less crowded than tuesday, go figure.

If your son is a huge fan of Halloween and sea life, then it might be worth it to take advantage of going on a Spooktacular day. We went on the 30th and the kids seemed to really enjoy all the halloween decorations set up around the park, as well as the trick or treating stations. There were a lot of areas set up for Halloween themed pictures and we saw a lot of characters around the park.

If you've never gone to the Spooktacular and have to opportunity to attend, it's worth it as long as you aren't expecting something along the lines of MNSSHP. The Clyde and Seamore show is halloween themed and it was really funny, your son will probably like it. The Mime who was out with the crowd as people were coming into the C&S stadium was really funny. Blue Horizons wasn't a Halloween themed show and the afternoon Shamu show didn't have a halloween theme either, but there is enough Halloween stuff around the park that a kid who loves Halloween would probably really enjoy it. My group of adults had a blast and we didn't even get any of the Trick or Treating.
