I am looking for comfortable sandals, particularly flip flops, to wear to WDW in August. I am a huge fan of UGG boots and recently noticed that UGG makes flip flops. I was wondering if anyone has ever worn these flip flops around the parks and how comfortable they actually are. I am specifically looking at the following styles: Tasmina, Persephone or Malta. Any help would be appreciated!!!

I would not suggest this and I LOOOVE the Ugg brand.

It does not show up in the pictures very clearly on the website but on each sandal there is sheepskin either on the bottom of your foot or on the straps of the sandal on the top of your foot.

I had looked into getting a pair of these as well but in the summer you don't need that extra heat. Esp. if you are at Disney I imagine the sheepskin would get really dirty, fast.

I do not like that they put the sheepskin on the sandals b/c they have some really nice sandals. Anyway, from my opinion I would say no b/c of this reason.

If you are looking for more pictures try other websites. I know that the Nordstrom website had different views of the sandals that you can zoom in on and that is how I discovered this myself otherwise I would have never noticed either.

I've never tried Ugg flip flops but I can tell you that I wore Teva flip flops for our entire trip last August and loved them. They were great for the horrible weather we experienced with tropical storm Faye.

Thanks for all the input so far. I never thought about the sheepskin getting dirty. I wasn't worried about being hot in them b/c all UGG boots were originally worn in the summer by surfers anyway so I figured it would be fine...but who really knows?!? My feet never have gotten too hot in them....I don't wear socks w/them. I would, however, worry about them getting dirty b/c it seems it would be very hard to keep them clean...thanks for pointing that out to me!!:thumbsup2 I'll have to look into the Teva flip flops and maybe some other brands. I'd love to have a combo of comfort and style! I'm definitely avoiding Crocs. Absolutely love them for children...can't see myself wearing them...not for me...sorry Croc lovers!

Thanks for suggesting the Teva flip flops! I just went on their website and I absolutely love the Mandalyn Wedge!! :lovestruc I also like the Willa Wrap, Mush, and Bowen Plaid. Which style did you wear to WDW last August? We were there also during Faye and all 3 of the flip flops I brought had slippery soles. They were okay when there wasn't any rain/puddles, but as soon as it started to rain,(and it did often) it was like I was slipping on ice. It was so embarassing. I had to go buy a pair of rubber Tinker Bell flip flops in the gift shop which I hated. (I don't like to wear characters on my clothing!)

Everytime one of these threads come up about what kind of shoe to wear to WDW, I always recommend the Teva Mush. I absolutely love them and always carry at least a couple of pairs to switch out. I am a flip flop diva and live in flip flops around here just about year around, and have probably over 200 pairs of flip flops. I wear all kinds around here, but the best I've found for WDW are the Teva Mush. I also like the Teva Olowahu, Ulani, and Toolani, but not at WDW. My feet have a tendency to swell at WDW and I can't wear the flip flops with the narrow straps. The wider straps just feel better. Another good flip flop to wear down there are the Montrail Molokini. They are more expensive than the Mush, but you bake them in the oven for just a few minutes then immediately put them on and wear them. They mold exactly to your feet and feel sooo good.:cloud9: I have a friend who swears by Nike Celso, so you might want to check those out too. Teva Mush are by far my favorite flip flops though.

Alot of people on here love the Croc flip flops. I have several pairs that I wear around here, but don't like them for WDW. The toe piece just feels too big and stiff. For WDW I prefer flop flops that have wide cloth straps and a soft cloth piece for the toe thingy.

The more I look at the Teva website, the more I really would like to try a pair on...I just have to find a place nearby that sells them! Thanks for the advice!

another vote for Teva Mush. they are FABULOUS. They are squishy and soft and the more you wear them, the more comfortable they are. There are a gazillion colors and patterns to choose from. They are fabulous. They aren't overly expensive so you can buy several pairs but they are real troopers and last for years. I purchased my first pair in 2006 and they are still going strong. I buy at least two new pairs every summer. I cannot live without them. Especially at Disney.

And y'know, I've got several pricey pairs of Privo flips. They are bit dressier...look cute with summer dresses and such...They are really cute and really comfortable, but if it starts pouring...forget about it. They are coming off and I'll walk barefoot before I let them get destroyed by the rain. Teva mush CAN act as a bit of a sponge and make squelchy noises...but that's only after prolonged puddle standing. They dry out good as new though.

seriously...you will not be sorry! Welcome to the Teva Mush Devotee Club!

i know. I need help. I am addicted.

:goodvibes

PS- Dick's Sporting Goods always has a good variety of Teva mush...they are probably putting them out right about now. You can also purchase a pair on Shoes.com or Zappos.com...free shipping, free returns. If you don't like them, you can send them back!

Teva Mush for me as well. Last summer when I bought them I got them from www.sierratradingpost.com. Right now it looks like they only have 2 colors available ... great price tho ... only $12.95. My feet also swell at Disney from all the walking and I still found these very comfortable. They also dry out nicely ... none of that walking around in soaked shoes.

Last time I visited Disney in the summer I wore Nike flip flops with arch support. They were awesome. My feet never got tired and when they got wet on water rides they dried quickly. They are amazing and I'm wearing the same thing in two weeks!

I LOVE Columbia flip flops. It has a sneaker like bottom with an arch support. I've worn them all day in the parks with no problems.

The sheepskin shouldn't be making your feet warmer. Its intended to keep your body temp all year round.

I wore my Ugg Tasmina flip flops on my last trip and they were SUPER comfy!!

So happy to hear this!! I'm surprised that more people haven't worn the UGG flip flops. Thanks to all for your input!

I am so glad someone started this thread.... I have really bad Plantar Fasciitis - thought it is MUCH better now! I wear Nike running shoes most of the time, but in the summer I LOVE wearing flip flops!!!! Closed shoes are so hot. I am looking for some flip flops with the support of a shoe. 2 years ago I bought several pairs of Birkenstocks, and I wore them several months (to break them in) before visiting WDW. I tried wearing them to MK one day and I thought I was going to DIE:scared1: my feet were hurting so bad. Any suggestions????

Teva mush - wonderful!!! Esp. for WDW. :yay: I just ordered a new pair on-line through Dick's Sporting Goods...Free Shipping...20% off one item...total price was $11.98!:cool1:

Love the Teva mush also. If you go to Sierratradingpost and click on the "sign up for email Deal Flyer" (on the left hand side), you will receive a 15-20% off discount within a few days. I went nuts last summer a bought all kinds of Tevas for me, DH and DS. We all love the regular mush and I also like the Olawahu. I think they run a bit small...keep that in mind when ordering....especially the Olawahu.

Believe me you will love these flip flops. DH has never wore sandals in his life, and he wears them all the time. DH's foot doctor said he even approved of Tevas.

I kid you not, I must have bought 6 pairs for me, 3 for DH and 3 for DS. I lived in the Teva's at WDW last Oct. and they are so lightweight that I could take tons of pairs and not worry about luggage weight. DS, who is a graduating college student has already requested a couple more pairs for this summer.

Good luck and happy shopping. Just talking about it, makes me want to order more Teva's. :woohoo:

Id go with the Uggs, but I would be afraid to wear them if its raining or on a wet ride... But Uggs are the most comfy things, and they originally were dessert boots. Up here in Canada, people wear the boots all year round (and yes it does get quite hot is very humid)

I recently bought the UGG Tasmina flip flops and they are soooo comfortable!! Couldn't resist buying them & I'm so glad that I did! I first bought the chestnut ones and found them to be so comfortable that I went back & bought them in black also. Can't wait to use them in Disney! I'm still looking into the Teva flip flops. I'm not usually the type of person who has a shoe addiction, but I do when it comes to flip flops...my husband hates it!!! Hey, at least it's a cheap addiction...most of the time!:rolleyes1

Last year, on the recommendation of people here, I bought myself a pair of Teva Mush flip flops. (I like the prices at www.sierratradingpost.com ) I, too, wore them in August as TS Faye approached. I was surprised at how comfortable they were; I assumed I would use them for the pool and wear my sneakers all day. Instead, my sneakers went mostly unused.

This year I own 3 pair, and every person in my family has one!!
