Anybody ever stayed at the Atlantis? My mom, sister, aunt and myself are planning on going for 4days/3nights in early July. I have seen the Atlantis when on the DCL but we did not venture to it. I have watched those annoying little Olson girls' movie, "Holiday in the Sun" (which is filmed on location at the Atlantis). This place looks absolutely awesome. I was looking for some first hand experiences........we will be stayiing in the Beach Towers....anyone????

I've stayed there several times over the years, even back before it was Atlantis. Be prepared for VERY expensive food.

A co-worker just got back last week from Atlantis. Same comment as Pamlur - extremely expensive food! She enjoyed it there, but won't be going back again.

ITS AMAZING!!!! Okay, I got a little excited there, sorry :)

We're actually going in late August for the second time. First time we stayed in the Royal Towers, this time I think we're in the Coral Towers (I'm pretty sure those are the ones in the middle).

The food is VERY expensive...the whole place is pretty expensive. It's amazing though, be prepared to feel very pampered. Lots of stuff to do, amazing pools, theres practically a waterpark in the resort. We had a meal plan, which covered breakfast and dinner everyday. Lunch was usually just some fast food at sharkbites by the pool or some popcorn and a margarita ;)

There is a dolphin encounter that you can get to by boat on another island. It's really expensive, but it was one of the most amazing things I have ever done in my life. They kiss you, dance with you, squirt water with you, hug you, swim with you....its great.

At the Atlantis they have so much to do...pedalboating, snorkeling, golf in the pool (seriously), plenty of activities for kids. They have a million places to eat, and shops (though they're Gucci, Versace...stuff like that). They have bananaboating and all those typical island activities on the beach that locals harass you to do. There is this thing called The Dig, which is a walkthrough aquarium, the "underwater city of Atlantis". It is themed beautifully, just like WDW. Scattered throughout the resort are other underwater tunnels and aquariums...we ran into them by accident.

I'm going to stop now, I can go on and on :) If you ask specifics I'd be able to answer them better. BTW, I own Holiday In the Sun, and I LOVE that movie. Atlantis looks just like that.

How are the rooms in the Beach Tower? My aunt wanted to know if the slot machines in the casino take U.S. coins and if they pay out in U.S. coins? As far as the food goes..... I'll just take my Disney World crockpot!!!!!! That's a joke :smooth:

I'm fairly sure that the slot machines take and pay out in U.S. coins, but I could be wrong. I wasn't legal to gamble when I went (this time I am :) ) and they are VERY strict about stopping in the middle of the casino if you're not of age. (You have to walk through the casino to get from one side of the resort to the other.

I haven't stayed in the Beach Tower, but I have heard that they are nice. Nothing amazing, but not in bad condition. The website offers pictures of the rooms, and it looks nice (if it is an accurate representation...the Royal towers room picture looked exactly the same as the room I stayed in).

All I'm going to stay about our stay in the Royal Towers, is it was a complete waste of money. I'd never go back. It's basically a Holiday Inn with window dressing. DEFINATELY not worth the money.

My DW and I had an interesting time. The ancient statues kept coming to life, and there was this blue glow that kept us awake at night. Ran into a cute couple there (Milo and Kida), though, who were really friendly; and you could rent the stone flying fish for $32 / hour. We'll probably go back.

:jester: So Sorry ;)
