I have found my motivation Or, should I say it was crammed down my throat. I was dropping my DFil off at adult day care when one of the residents there turned to a worker and said "she is huge." I acted like I did not hear her, but when I got to the car I cried, cursed and called my DSis. I had been talking about doing Nutrisystems, but that is as far as I got. She felt so bad she ordered it for me. She surprised me with it a week later. We decided to split it and do it together and then trasnition into WW and the Biggest Loser (that is what she wants to do). I did WW before and it worked great.

So my question is has anyone ever started with Nutrisystem and then switched to WW? Is the transition easy? I like that WW has more choices. I feel so limited on Nutrisystem with my veggies.

I am heading in the right direction and do not want to de-rail my progress. Any advice?:confused3

No advice.

Only that I'm very sorry that someone was so insensitive to you.

But the best thing about this post - to me - is that you could instantly phone your sister with your hurt. :lovestruc That's really lovely. Really lovely.

All the best to you whatever path you choose.

:grouphug: I have had a moment like that and it is horrible! I would suggest skipping Nutrisystem the food is incredibly bad! Your better off starting with WW. If you feel safer with prepackaged, Jenny Craig might be an option, but it is really expensive. WW is best and your family can eat WW food too, with prepared meals you will have to eat alone.

Get yourself totally prepared, look up some ww recipes, make a grocery list, clean out your cupboards odf all of the bad stuff and then go to a WW meeting! If you do not LOVE the leader, try a few other times during the week until you find a meeting leader you love it makes all of the difference. Once you go to the meeting, go grocery shopping and commit!

I need to go back to WW, DF wants to wait a few weeks due to money, but I cannot wait to go back, it works. I do recommend GOING to a meeting, I find it keeps me far more honest than doing it online.

I love Nutrisystem:love: I have been on it for almost 7 months and have lost 46 lbs. I have tried everything and found the convience of having the box delivered at home to work for me. I would like to lose about 24 more lbs. and want to do it by March. As you can see, I am taking it slow.

My family has noticed a big difference in my attitude with this. My DH and DD27 both started tasting the food and liking it. They both wanted to lose 15lbs and have been eating it on and off since May. Both dropped their weight and have been doing a form of maintenance, that really is healthy eating. Our family dinners, instead of going out, are now at-home, fun afternoons of cooking.

The food used to be bad, but they have really improved it. Everytime I take a microwave meal to work, people will come over and ask me what smells so good. Also, Nutrisystem has really good message boards and website that I have found to be very helpful.

I'm so sorry that you heard what you did, it can be very upsetting. Try to do what program works for you. :grouphug:

Thank you both for your perspectives. Congratulations on your weight loss!
I do not have a choice about the Nutrisystem because my Dsis bought it for me as a surprise. I do find the food tasty and in fact neither on of us (Dsis is splitting the order with me) has a complaint thus far about the food. My reason for going to WW is that it is more flexible. The convenience of NS is great, but I want more food choices. I finish NS on the 16th. I am concerned about the transition to WW and was hoping someone on here has done it before.

Last night I went through the Biggest Loser cookbook with DSis and found several items I can use with WW.

Here's a thought....

Since all of the nutrition info. is on the NS packaging, go through it all and figure out how many points you are eating per day. Then compare that with how many points you'll eat on WW. That should give you a good indication of how the transition will go.

Good luck and I am sorry that some people just suck.

Do you mind if I ask how much you have to lose?

Wow! I'm sorry that person was so insensitive to you. :sad2: I actually started doing Nutrisystem but, unfortunately, I really did not like the taste of the food. My doctor has actually said that WW is about the best thing out there . . . but, I'm not doing that, either (So much for listening to my doctor, right?). I think everyone needs to find a plan that works for them. For me, personally, it is just watching my calories and fat and working out five days a week. I have lost 10 pounds so far (in about a month) and have about 80 more to go!!

I am glad you and your sister have decided to get healthier together - it always helps when you have someone to support you and to hold you accountable. You CAN do it!!! My mantra is: "You didn't put it on in a day, so it's not going to come off in a day." This really has helped me keep things in perspective when I get frustrated.

Best of luck to you - remember, YOU ARE WORTH IT! :thumbsup2

Are you aware of the current WW offer valid until Oct 17th?

Sign up for monthly pass $39.95 per month. I think they automatically bill your cc each month for this. They will bill for month 1 and month 2 will be FREE!!

Monthly pass also included etools at the WW website.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Great minds think a lie. I am eating 10 or so less points on NS. I am fearful to transition now because I am afraid I will gain. I may have to do it slowly.

As for how much I have to lose. I would like to lose 60 -70lbs It would br great to lose 100 and be thin, but I am not a spring chicken anymore. At this point I could care less how much I lose as long as my face stops looking fat!
