Has anyone ever had a bad holiday?

Mine was a few years ago and it was my first trip to Disney.

The worst part was that I got sick (flu I think). I started to feel really ill on the flight and it just got worse from there. I spent most of the first week in bed!

Also, the people I went with (a friend and his family) were... well lets say they weren't great travel companions.

They were what I like to call typical British tourists (rude, loud, vulgar) and were completely unwilling to adapt to the American way of life (I'm sure you've all had the chips/ chips debate before).

They were also not at all interested in the things I wanted to do (like visit Epcot) and visited most of the things I wanted to do most while I was ill in bed (I had recovered slightly by the second week).

The saddest part of all, which hit me hard this holiday (not with them) was that the never took me to see a doctor and this holiday, I discovered this holiday that it was right across the road form our hotel. I didn't know that before

Anyway, I just wondered if anyone else had a bad experience on their Disney holiday (or any other for that matter).

A very bad experience but not in Disney thank goodness, a friend and i went to Malta once for 2 weeks, we were about 18 at the time, we constantly abused and shouted at in the street even though we weren't in the least provocatively dressed, we were told we were 'easy white english' all the time, she was attacked by lads jumping out of their car and pushing her to the ground (we were never sure if any rape threat was imminent) but they ran off as I rushed at them, (not sure why, there were 4 of them and only us 2) and then on a different day we were going up by elevator to the rooftop terrace in our hotel (we'd decided this was the only safe sunbathing option) and we were forced out of the lift and into this guys hotel room, we were lucky and mangaged to escape and reported him to the hotel who said he was a libyan who felt 'threatened' by us!
needless to say even as a travel agent I HATE selling holidays to Malta and wouldn't suggest it to anyone even as a last resort for a holiday

Ive been to Malta and I thought it was really nice! I went as a couple tho so it might have been different, I would think for family holidays to the quiet bits its fine.

My worst holiday was to Gran Caneria, we stayed in the dumpiest hotel, the doors and windows didnt shut, the light fixings were hanging off the wall, there were holes in the wall which they had stuffed loo paper in, there were cockroaches everywhere and it was soooo dirty! Also there were loads of time share people there and everytime we went out we got stopped and there were really pushy. I wouldnt go back there is you paid me!

The only bad experience we had was when DH insisted on a short 5 day break to Cornwall. We stayed in a ghastly hotel in Newquay and it really was the pits! We left early and they refunded our money as they realised we weren't happy.

The only plus was that DH agreed with me that we'd NEVER holiday in the UK again!

My worst holiday was to Ibiza. We were put in accommodation I wouldn't put my worst enemy into!

Also I am afraid there were far too many drunken Brits all over the place for my taste!
