I am NOT going to get into a verbal shouting match here. BUT...again, I will say that we see many people, posting here on this board, that they will not be split up from their children and what they will do to force the airline to put them all together.I had no issue with anyone's reply in telling me how it is. I quoted exactly what I found to be sarcastic.
I just want to clarify: you think, when someone replies with 2 blunt words of "How considerate" when they are clearly aiming to say you are not considerate, that that is not saracastic? That is by definition sarcastic!
I'm just blown away here because I did not think, when i booked, that they split families up. I didn't pay for my seat selection because I interpreted it as something entirely different....please be patient with those of us who are new, and are not actually trying to harm everyone else while we book our vacations.
It is not considerate to expect someone else to change seats with you in order to accomodate you and your family. You posted that you felt it was 'what a rip', and that your kids would scream their heads off and that it would be in the airlines best interest to not split your family up. Well, that is kind of inconsiderate of those who did pay to be seated with their families. Why should they have to pay to be seated together, while you, who wanted a cheap flight, decided it was a 'rip' to pay for specific seating, and will cause a ruckus if you don't get seated together, didn't pay the addtl fee, but expect to be seated together??? Kind of unfair to those who did pay, don't you think?
You get what you pay for when flying. Certain things are important to me, so I am willing to pay for them. For instance, I flew to Ft Lauderdale last week. I flew on Airtran, and had only carryon bags. I knew that flights can be jammed with passengers with carryon bags only, so paid the addtl money to board early...that way I was able to be assured of overhead bin space. On only one of my flights was it an issue.....I didn't have to pay to board early to get that space. But I didn't know that going in. I decided to just pay it and not worry about overhead bin space. I'm sure there were some passengers, who boarded at the end of that one crowded flight, that were very put out that there were no spaces remotely close to their seats...if at all. But, they took their chances and didn't pay for the right to board early. Again...you get what you pay for. You don't want to pay for specific seats for your entire family? Then you take the remote chance of being split up. your choice.
