Here's the review I just wrote on allears
We had dinner here on August 12, and were seated right on time for our 5:55 reservation. We are a family of five.
The food and atmosphere here are excellent. I had the fish which was just amazingly good. Even the kids' pizza is unique and not the typical Disney kids meal pizza. Desserts are creative and unusual and very good.
The decor is very upscale and elegant looking.
The only negative we experienced was our server. She was pleasant and prompt and refilled my iced tea. However, she seemed more concerned with her tip than anything.
First, when we arrived, she asked if we were on the dining plan, and when I said we were, she asked to see my card. That's not so unusual as a few other servers did so during our trip too. But this one KEPT the card. It took me a few minutes to realize it (and she'd left the table by this point), so when I asked her later if she still had it she informed me that she was going to keep it during the meal and return it later. Now I'm not sure what the purpose of that is, and I do not appreciate it. I never have to hand over my Visa or American Express to the server at my local restaurant, so I'm not sure what she wanted it for or why she felt that she had a right to hold it while we ate.
When my husband and son said they only wanted ice water for their drinks, she brought them that but then also brought two $6.50 bottles of Evian bottled water for them to go. They did not ask for those and did not want them, but she added them to the bill which I'm sure was an attempt by her to get her tip increased. This was the second action by her that I did not appreciate.
Finally, she is the only server to point blank ask me how I intended to pay the gratuity, and whether I was going to pay cash or charge it to the room--this while she was still keeping my room key somewhere. I know with the dining plan the tips are not included; the receipts say so very clearly. However, I never had any server except for her make a point to ask about it. This, on top of the Evian water thing and keeping my card, was just over the top in my opinion.
She was an attentive server, but again, her attitude bothered me. I hope the management of the Wave deals with this type of behavior by its servers because it's not appropriate.
