Has anyone ever done this timeshare option

I am renting a house this year, but thought I'd still go to a timeshare tour for a some free Universal tickets (I'm buying 3 day hopper plus disney passes from Alamo). I found a website that is offering (2) 2 day universal or Islando of adventure passes (I don't think they are hoppers) for free with a timeshare tour. I was a little hestitate because I've never seen this site before.

Has anyone ever used the web to pre-plan timeshare tours. I know if you book resort stay you get free tickets, but again I'm not staying in a timeshare resort/or hotel affiliate. If you know of a legit site you used please post it.

Anyway, this website not only has these free universal, disney, sea world, and many more. They also have 4 day hoppers for $125 ( a saving of at least $75 each if you got them from AAA or hotwiresavingsclub.)

I am sure many have done it, but be careful because timeshare touring is not for the faint of heart--or those who have a problem saying "NO!"

You might find more information at the website for theTimeshare User Group . There is a small membership fee, but well worth it for anyone considering timesharing as an option--even for just touring timeshare companies.

We have done timeshare tours at Orange Lakes CC, Wyndham Palms and Fairfield. The FF tour was booked over the internet and we received free IOA tickets, (2 free 2 day tickets). It was very legit. Unfortunately I don't remember the website we used. I know Westgate advertises free tickets over the internet a lot. The OLCC and FF tours were not overly high pressure, but the Wyndham Palms was very high pressure. We received cash for OLCC and Wyndham Palms. Many of them will also give you breakfast or lunch when you arrive for the tour. If you have a car, there are timeshare booths all up and down the roads. We stopped and chose the best offer. We told them what we wanted, and they hooked us up with Wyndham Palms. We do timeshare tours all over the country when we go on vacation to offset the costs or get free tickets and dinners. The worst part is the last 15-30 minutes when we have to try to say no. But, for a $75-$100 reward, it is worth it. Just make sure you don't buy. It is much cheaper to buy resale and you can find almost every timeshare resale. Debby

It is interesting that the four-day Park Hoppers they are showing for $125.00 for the pair have a 14 day expiration on them. Most Disney Park Hoppers don't ever expire. Also, some of these places are VERY hard sell, and once they get you into the golf cart you may be more like three hours instead of 90 minutes.

My husband and I recently did a timeshare presentation, because we were somewhat interested, and stated upfront that we weren't going to make a purchase. Well the salesman was nice, and a little overbearing when it came to our "no" at the end of the pitch.
We received nothing from the presentation, except information. I felt we were being lied to at the end with all the perks we would receive if we signed up today, because "management made a goof in their year end numbers and their year ends today. They need to make their goals or else."
Nothing like being pressured. Husband said "never again."

I know that companies are offered several different kinds of Disney vouchers. Like, During the summer of 2002 I went to a timeshare resort in Ozarks, MO They were giving out what they called 2+ disney vouchers (2 parks not hoppers- plus a water park.pleasure island, etc.). A ticket I've never seen before. And yes they had an expiration date of December 2002.

I guess that's why Alamo (and a select few other hotels) are offered the 3+ day hopper, a ticket you can't even get at Disney.

We have probably attended 12 timeshare tours to offset the costs of tickets. The Palms, and Westgate are VERY high pressure, however we have also done Marriott and Hilton who give a guarantee that the tour will last 90minutes with NO high pressure, unless you make it last longer by being interested and asking more questions. At the end when the tour was over it was enough to say no and we were thanked for our attendance and given our incentives.
We actually have timeshare at Horizons by Marriott in Orlando, and Oasis Lakes in Orlando.
We always booked for the early breakfast, had the tour and then hit the parks.

Has anyone done Sheraton Vistana villages? They called us about it. $100 or 8000 starwood points for doing the tour. 4 night stay for $199. We may be in the area for 2 weeks and have nothing better to do.

We have done the Marriott tour as well. We were staying in the Marriott Village outside of DTD and signed up for the tour in our resort. They were calling for rain one day, so we decided to do it. The early tour was given less - we waited for the last tour (10:30 I think) and were given $50 off our room and $75 Disney Dollars.

Me and the salesman got off on the wrong foot and he made me upset. Basically, he told me if I wasn't interested we could go sit on the couch for 90 minutes and they would return us to our hotel. Being the "smartie" that I am I told him that was probably a good idea! My only other comments after that were comparisons to DVC (we didn't take the tour, but I had researched it). Before we left to see the room, he told me that maybe I should just buy DVC!

After the 90 minutes, we were given our incentives and driven back to our hotel. Basically painless!

We use the timeshare for our vacations also. It saves so much money on lodging. So why not? they use us, we use them. We did the Liki Tiki last summer and out teenage girls loved it. Not hight pressure at all. and a to die for place to stay. In Oct. my husband and I did the Summer bay resort for the weekend, we loved that. and they were not high pressure at all. Both very nice, and we got what was promised in the end. We plan on Orange Lake this summer too.
I guess I should fell guilty doing this every summer, but hey, they call me!
But the person who said you just have to have the will power to day NO! at the end is right. We remind ourselves no matter how much we love the place, this is ONLY for the vacation. and must say NOOOO!

Many thanks for that website, we will be using it for our October04 trip to Orlando as we have used our 3 weeks timeshare for May04.
Certainly don't feel guilty about using them, they know that over 75% of people are there for the tickets.
