We intend to leave a credit card imprint so we can take advantage of express checkout, but we already have enough US$ traveller's cheques and cash to pay for our purchases while we're at WDW.

What we want to do is to sign the traveller's cheques and give the cash to the front desk of our resort (Beach Club) and have them use those funds to pay our bill. That way we don't have to carry a lot of cash with us (we're not on the free dining plan). We're Canadian so we don't want to pay the exchange rate on a large credit card bill.

Any money left unspent would be refunded to us. If we go over our cash deposit, they'll charge the credit card.

Sounds like a perfect plan to us, but the question is........

Can we do it? Has anyone else done this???

We are also Canadian and did the same thing when we were there last March. Put cash down on our "account" then charged everything back to our room. It was very convienient not to have to carry large amounts of cash around. Make sure to carry a little bit of cash because not all snack carts (I'm thinking of the one near Canada) take the room cards.
Every couple of nights we would request a print out from the front desk showing exactly what we had spent and where. It was nice to come home and be able to review what we had spent...it helps for budgeting for next time. Enjoy your trip!!
