It's just amazing what you find when you start poking around the web... :surfweb: lol...-I just booked a Lilo and Stitch Breakfast last week that I hadn't even know existed and know I've been reading back posts about a Family Magic Tour that sounds like it might be a lot of fun... :goodvibes

I kind of get the premise that you show up at City Hall about 10 and that you are searching for Captain Hook's hook which Peter stole or the pirates will all enter the park (which actually could be fun...) anyhow...

1. Is there a limit on the size of the tour party?
2. Who is your guide...is it a regular CM or is it Wendy-this is where I'm a little confused?
3. Are you searching for Peter or do you just run into him-is the hook hidden somewhere in the MK?
4. Is there a lot of interaction with Wendy and Peter?
5. I've seen Mickey's Philharmagic mentioned in conjuction with this tour...is this something you do during it?

Any clarifications would be great-I am intrigued by this idea...my son will be 4 and my daughter will be 12 and she loves to get silly with him...and DH forget-Peter Pan is his favorite Disney Movie...

Thanks for any input! popcorn::

I will try and answer the best I can. We have done this twice.

The size of the tour party is small. It seemed like about 8-10 kids and their adults.
It is led by a CM.
You are searching for the hook. The CM has a list of clues and you go searching for them. You all get to act rather silly during your search.

***Spoiler***
In the end, you do find Peter and Wendy (or they find you) and the hook.
You have time for photos and autographs, with just your group. You get a certifiacte for helping out.
Both times, we did Philharmagic with Peter and Wendy. I have great pictures of my DS and Wendy.
We both enjoyed the tour, but he has now gotten to old to enjoy it.

I have done it twice, also.
1st time, after our autograph session, Peter took us to the castle, it was perfectly timed for the forecourt show to get over and Captain Hook was inside. Peter then encouraged us to taunt Captain Hook and chant "Hook is a cod fish! Hook is a cod fish!" Hook then chased us out of the castle!
Then, Peter took us on 2 rides.

2nd time: Peter AND Wendy took us on Small World. (My DD was more amazed that we entered the ride through the exit!)

Different experiences for each tour, I guess. :thumbsup2

We did this and ended with Wendy in Mickey's Philarmagic. After a cute little skit. It was so much fun and I highly recommend it to everyone. You'll have a great time!!!

PS Be prepared to be silly!!!

We also did the FMT and had a great time. Our guide told us that at peak times, the touring group is limited to 10 people (kids and adults). During less busy times, they allow 20 people.

We had a great time, even in the rain, and rode IASW with Peter and Wendy.

:thumbsup2

The pic in my sig is of my 3yo DS leading Peter to IASW. DS3 was acting like a stinker for most of the tour, but perked right up when Peter arrived. He still talks about it 7 months later!

Patricia-
We did this for the first time this past January, so it was a less busy time of the year. Our group was about 22-24 total kids & adults so it was larger than most mentioned here.

We gathered at the package pick-up area with is left of City Hall and got name tags, then our CM came out and goofed around with a story about cleaning all the rubbish bins in the park. He eventually got down to the hunt and it was fun. We searched for the Hook to give back to Capt'n Hook or else something bad would happen (can't remember what they said). At the end, Peter Pan & Wendy showed up in the roped off area on the path between Adventureland and the Castle area.

We got to spend about 10-15 mins there taking pics and talking with PP & W and then they asked the kids which ride/attraction they wanted to do together. They picked Mickey's Philharmagic and we were able to enter the line and then go down to the roped off area for the handicapped guests. We waited for the next show, the whole time PP & W goofed off with the kids and the 3-D glasses. DS sat 1-2 seats away from PP & next to Wendy and during the show they made little wisecracks & had the audience laughing.

As we exited the show we were handed our certificates and then said goodbye. I want to say that our experience lasted until close to 1PM, perhaps because of the size of our group.

We love the Family Magic Tour. We have done the tour five times ( we even did it twice on one long trip!) Each time we have done it the quest is a little different. Our group sizes have ranged from 8 to 20 people. Each of the tour guides have been different and each one adds their own special touch to the fun. Our favorite was Greg (he kind of looks like a young John Travolta). We like to do the tour on days when the MK might be a little busy, that way we are still enjoying the park without having to fight the crowds! You really do feel like a celebrity while you are on the tour (my kids love it!) We will be doing it on our next trip in November, on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We have had many friends and family members join us and they have all really enjoyed it, too!

Thanks everyone for the input! :sunny:

We just booked this for our last full day during our December trip-very excited about it

It seems like most of the feedback I've read here and on "other boards"...lol... mentions Peter, Hook, and Wendy but when we (actually DH) booked the description the CM read him was more generic, something to the effect of ..."helping save the park from a villian who wants to take it over"...has anyone ever heard of another storyline? (Just wondering I'd love Peter Pan but am sure whatever they did would be great... :thumbsup2 )

We just did this a couple of weeks ago, and LOVED it. Here's what I can add. Make sure you and your kids (and DH) are prepared to be silly b/c one boy on our tour almost quit b/c he was embarrassed. Apparently, Tink is watching to make sure you are WORTHY of saving MK. On our tour, it was only Peter - Wendy had to go back to London with her brothers. But, our Peter was TERRIFIC!!!!!!! We did Small World. They offered that or Philharmagic and my dd is terrified of 3D so we did the Small World. Peter was on the front row of the boat with the four kids (ages 5, 6, 6, and 9). Those kids forgot they even HAD parents for that ride. :wizard:

I would do this again - with just dd. But, NEVER with DH. He would be so embarrassed!

Have fun. It's terrific. **Hint: when they ask you your favorite character, remember it needs to be one you can act out without shame. :rotfl2:

We had the "save the MK from the villians" too. Our scenario was that we had to break the spell or the villians would take over the park and it would no longer be the happiest place on earth. MILD SPOILER AHEAD!
At the end when Peter came out he and another CM had a really cool magic trick that helped break the spell. I'll just say that something disappeared! My kids (4 and 6) still think they are the main reason that the MK is still the happiest place on earth. :rotfl2: You will not regret going!

We did this in October. Our group was about 12 adults and 6 or so kids. DS9 was the oldest kid in the group, and NONE of the adults were acting silly with the kids, so DS felt like he was a little too old for the experience. We had Peter at the end and saw Philharmagic.

It was fun, but DS hasn't mentioned it since so I don't think it left much of an impression. I think with younger kids it is great!

Our tour group was 16, about half of them from one family/group. I believe something was said about a limit of 20.

Nothing is guaranteed, including which characters you meet with or which attraction you vists, but yes we had LOTS of interaction with Peter Pan and Wendy, and they were terrific (this was Dec 2004).

While I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for adults without children, it is fun for children of all ages and well worth the cost.
