I'd like to hear about your experience if you have. I found this on allearsnet.com:

"Birthday or Anniversary Cruise - Birthday or Anniversary Cruises: Pontoon boats decorated with balloons, streamers, and party favors are available to groups for special occasions. These evening cruise packages include a decorated cake and beverages. Boats depart from the Yacht Club, the BoardWalk Inn, the Contemporary, or Wilderness Lodge. The cost for the boat and driver is about $175 for one to seven people and about $230 for eight to twelve people."

DH will have his 39th birthday while we are at WDW in October and I think this would be a great surprise!

Thanks :)

We did it for my ds's 11th birthday. His school had a 2wk springbreak so there were a few families from his class in wdw. We had everyone meet at the Y&BC and had a party on the boat. We loved it. It was so relaxing after a long hot day of doing the parks. The captain was great. I think that we tipped him $30-we checked with wdw-dine to see what they suggested for a tip. The pictures that we took that night are priceless and are among my favorite from "the world." Definitely worth the money!!

We did a B-day cruise out of the WL in Dec last year. We had a great time! The boat had a big banner saying Happy Birthday and they had tied helium balloons all around it. (We got to keep them at the end of the cruise) I don't remember any "streamers" or "party favors". It didnt matter. They had a cooler full of pop and water for us. A week before we went down to the world I got a call asking what flavor of cake we wanted. It was awsome!!!! They provided plates, forks, napkins even the candles and lit it for us. Our driver was great! It was pretty expensive but we were cellerbrating a 50th so it was worth it. I would recomend it if you want to have the best birthday party to remember. Oh yeah, the fireworks weren't bad either :smooth: .

It sounds wonderful, thanks for sharing!

I'll call recreation and talk with them about it - it'll be a surprise for DH if we end up doing it :)

I would suggest WISHES fireworks specialty cruise. I believe the pontoon boat can seat 8 adults total. They board at the various hotels around Magic Kingdom. You cruise the lake for about 45mins with a captain giving you a personal tour of the lake with facts etc. then when the time gets near you park the boat and watch the WISHES fireworks show over Magic Kingdom. Fun for all every age, from the young to the young at heart! The basic cruise is $125. I did an birthday cruise myself, we had pop, a large cake, balloons and decorations added to celebrate a birthday! with that all added our total was $220. The prices can vary dependant of what "you want". They can have snacks, food, etc on the boat for you. Just call the 407-WDW-PLAY for reservations and pricing options.
