Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

I have learned so much from this thread! Thank you all for sharing your BEAUTIFUL ideas! :) I've seen some pretty thick gems on the Mickey heads and I keep getting told the ones I made won't work because I put little crystals on the Mickey head. Is that true? I've had thick nail polish over them in the past with no issues. (Very thick!) I don't think some little crystals are going to interfere with the RFID, but has anyone had any issues? The small world inspired band had very big gems on it and I'm very curious if she had issues in the parks with it! :)

I have had all kinds of things over the Mickey head and never had a problem at all.

I got my new magicbands in the mail this week! Here are the two new designs.. Nightmare Before Christmas for my husband and I did Finding Nemo/Dory band for myself :D

Both bands are beautiful, but (as usual) the Nightmare band is my favorite. Love it!

Thanks so much :) I just noticed someone else just asked that very recently but I hadn't caught up with the last 2 days posts before I asked haha I hadn't seen anyone ask elsewhere in the thread. My bad :upsidedow2

I have spent a week (no less) going through every single post/page of this thread lol My husband now thinks I am certifiable LOL Going to try some ideas soon on my old Gray band... we won't get our real ones for a while since we aren't going until the first week of March..

Just wanted to say thank you to each and every person that did this!!!

Finally photographed all my current bands and cropped them into one convenient photo!

The Nightmare before Christmas and the castle with Jiminy and fireworks are mine, Mr. incredible is for my dad, Olaf for my mom, Indiana Jones and R2D2 are my husband's, the castle with tink and the partners statue is for a friend traveling with us, and finally the Epcot logos is my ap band. We just booked a split stay January for 4, so that means 8 more bands to paint! So far, out of the eight, there are already plans for: another castle, tigger, a variation on the Epcot on, Mickey and small world. I have until the end of December to plan. All bands are acrylic paint, no base coat, then a brush on (not spray) acrylic gloss varnish. They are flexible, no cracks, and have held up pretty well so far wearing them around the house and to work (an elementary school teacher can get away with wearing a magic band as a bracelet).

WOW. Really nice work!

Love all of your current batch as well as the ones you have planned. I want to do a small world band....am having a hard time visualizing, much less actually creating.

I really think you might be on to something with the acrylics....

Where did you find the Epcot logos? Those graphics are SWEET and crisp-looking against the white band!

They are hand painted with a tiny brush. You can find all the old logos online, but we have some old disney art with them too.

Oh these are fantastic! I may "borrow" your idea for the NBC one, DS1 is Jack obsessed and a NBC themed magic band would probably make his day!

here are all the bands I created.

Question: Has anyone used stickers to decorate their bands? How do they hold up? Ours just shipped and i'm trying to figure out how I should do this. Unfortunately my artistic ability is limited to the photographic variety, so painting is not really an option. I can't seem to find any NBC tattoos so I was thinking maybe stickers? Anyone have a suggestion, I would REALLY appreciate it :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I found a lot of nail decals on ebay. They work just like tattoos; you can base coat over the top and they look good. They are tiny and fit well on the bands. They are difficult to apply due to their size but there are a lot more of these out there than tattoos. I know others have used stickers but I would worry too much about them holding up under the abuse my kids will dish out.

SO it turns out I am less than crafty. My tattoos did not show up, so I took them off, and used glitter polish to cover the bands. I will top them with a base coat tomorrow. I am really envious of all you talented people!

You can always try rub ons. They are simular to the tattoos but show up like a sticker.

Oh! I I am going to remember that for my next rip, because there is always another on my mind, LOL! have to say that my shiny bands are pretty nice, but not like the creations on this thread! I am going to put a coat or two of base coat to seal them, and I think that they will be okay. I will farm my next bands out to the artistic peole in my family from now on!
