Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

Thanks! Do you recall the name brand of the top coat you used? I'm hoping to used a tried and true top coat.

It is Zoya brand basecoat. I ordered it online when I was buying some Zoya polish.

Our magic bands for our trip! We used a chalk marker to make the outlines, then followed those with sharpie. After that we used acrylic paint followed by a clear coat of acrylic. Love them

My DD painted Dumbo on her band and the two ears of the center Mickey were Dumbo's eyes and she used two blue crystals for the eyes and it worked every shot. I had crystals on the ends of the ears and it worked fine. You will not have a problem.

very exciting - bought several bottles of nail polish at 40% off tonight at K-Mart (the local store is closing), including several "nail art" bottles that have the thin brushes. i ought to have enough polish to come up with something cool for the 6 bands we're going to have.

i was able to find MANY temp tattoo designs at the local Party City, also.

So...we'll see how it goes.

Finally got my bands done. We leave in 6 days!! The yellow bands DD11 did herselt, it is softball stitches on a yellow band. Mickey head even has stitches, and it has her number on it, the Mickey head and all gray parts are also glow in the dark. Blue band is DH's Doctor Who band. We printed 2 stickers on mailing labels and stuck them in there. All bands have 2 coats of base coat on top but not sjre how long the Tardis will hold up. Red band is Liverpool Football Club. The scarf "sticker" is actually a wall decal that I stuck on with fingernail glue. The glue looks awful but I don't think that sticker is going anywhere. Italso has Gerrard and his number on the side along with Mickey painted to look like a soccerball (with my lack of talent). The other red band is Gmas Minnie Mouse band. The last band is mine. Pink band painted with pink glitter. Both Mickey heads and the gray outer band are painted purple with glow in the dark over it.

I started out with no plan except for this shiny blue paint. Saw it on and decided to make a Sully magic band. This is the 1st of 10 magic bands we have, so I'm sure I'll decorate more.

Finally photographed all my current bands and cropped them into one convenient photo! The Nightmare before Christmas and the castle with Jiminy and fireworks are mine, Mr. incredible is for my dad, Olaf for my mom, Indiana Jones and R2D2 are my husband's, the castle with tink and the partners statue is for a friend traveling with us, and finally the Epcot logos is my ap band. We just booked a split stay January for 4, so that means 8 more bands to paint! So far, out of the eight, there are already plans for: another castle, tigger, a variation on the Epcot on, Mickey and small world. I have until the end of December to plan. All bands are acrylic paint, no base coat, then a brush on (not spray) acrylic gloss varnish. They are flexible, no cracks, and have held up pretty well so far wearing them around the house and to work (an elementary school teacher can get away with wearing a magic band as a bracelet).

I have learned so much from this thread! Thank you all for sharing your BEAUTIFUL ideas! I've seen some pretty thick gems on the Mickey heads and I keep getting told the ones I made won't work because I put little crystals on the Mickey head. Is that true? I've had thick nail polish over them in the past with no issues. (Very thick!) I don't think some little crystals are going to interfere with the RFID, but has anyone had any issues? The small world inspired band had very big gems on it and I'm very curious if she had issues in the parks with it!
