Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

Ashleyrm, love your bands! Question, did you apply the tattoos directly to the band? Specially the yellow princesses one? They look so good.

Yes, first applied a clear coat - I used Sally Hansen "Double Duty Strengthening Base & Top Coat" just because it was what I had on hand. Let it dry completely, and then apply tattoos following directions (place on band, pat gently with damp cloth or sponge and then peel off paper).

Just be really careful with placement because the tattoos really adhere to the nail polish. There is no moving them once they make contact!

Yellow bands are the "best" for applying the tattoos. The darker colors don't work so well and the orange band changes the colors of the tattoos (like it did to Sully). The pink bands work pretty well too.

One of my "grey" generic bands became the gold band with Mickey and a Red band was "painted" with silver glitter polish for my Sorcerer's Apprentice band.

I would love to decorate my MB but I need some help. If someone could send me a link for tattoos to use, good nail polish with glow in the dark, and even stickers would be greatly appreciated. :tigger::sulley::stitch::mickeyjum

I've bought my stickers at various places. Mostly Party City and places like Walmart/Target. I think you can find them on Amazon as well.

I am thinking of maybe coloring with sharpie, letting it sit for a day or two and spraying with sealer so it doesn't smear. It seems those that used sharpie had problems with it smearing when they used nail polish. Do you think that using a spray acrylic sealer might be better? I am better with pens then paints and do not want to invest in paint pens I will likely never use again.

I have never used the spray sealer so I don't know about that, however, after letting my bands with any sharpie on them dry for a day or so I have not had any issues with smearing when I sealed them with clear base coat.

Thanks for all the info! I recently made one of mine with tattoos and while it looked fantastic, it took me too much time! And this time around my mom wants hers decorated as well so it's double the project, but I saw you did quite a few that came out great and they don't look like you had to go through a dozen procedures!

Finished my MB for our Christmas trip. I'm an accountant, not an artist at all, but I think I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

So many great designs! I really like all of them.

I love to check here often to see how everyone has personalized their bands. It is so interesting to see how it doesn't matter what your artistic talent is..there is always a way to express yourself and make it your own if you put in a little time.

When are you going for Christmas?!:D

Has anyone used nail polish remover to remove acrylic paint? The layer of glitter paint that I put on didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. Thinking I need to do it over.

I did, it takes forever to get the paint off! But don't use pure acetone, it will fade the band, you will just have to keep at it for a while for the paint to come off.

Does anyone have any tips for me regarding the plastic baggie method for tattoos? I painted a nice thick layer of polish on a freezer bag and let it dry. I applied the temp tattoo and let it dry. Now my DH is asking why I am decorating the sandwich bags because I cannot get the tattoos to come off.
