Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

Thank you. :) The Maleficent band is not one of mine though. I would like to do one in the future. Right now I have too many ideas and not enough bands. I really wish we could order extras online. :upsidedow
That's right....IIRC you were the first to tackle the stained glass rose :). Just remember you made me want to go paint mine....but I chickened out!! Now that this is our second set, I'm going to get brave!!

Has anyone totally cleaned off their MagicBand after letting the nail polish dry for several days? I did 2 coats, but no top coat yet.

I don't really like how my design turned out, but don't want to try using the nail polish remover on it without hearing other peoples experiences first!

TIA!

I was on the fence, but my daughters and I did our the other day-- the guys want no part of it.

I can't post pictures, but here's what we did:

-Mine is yellow. I painted Mickey's head black, then did lots and lots of sparkle nail polish. It doesn't scream "BELLE" but it absolutely does remind you of her.

- My older daughter is green. She went over the whole band in neon-green colored nail polish. Then, the Mickey head is white with a blue dot--- just like MIke Waskowski's eye. Too cute!!!

- My younger daughter is the artist in the family. Her band is pink. She added a crown over the Mickey head, a rose for Belle, an apple for Sleeping Beauty, and lots of pixie duse (sparkles.) She's thrilled to death with it.

Just booked a last minute trip for the end of August.

I have decorated a couple of our Magicbands for other trips. This time I plan on using my color changing nail polish I got from Del sol. It starts out blue and turns pink in the sun. Think it would be cool to have a color changing Magicband. Plan to put a coat of glittery polish over it to give it some sparkle. I'll post a picture when I get the band in and done in a couple weeks. :thumbsup2

Great idea. I'm going in August too! Do you think if you put a coat of sheer glow in the dark polish over the color-changing polish it will affect the color changing ability? Just wondering...

The picture must be stored on the internet first. You don't have to design a website, just upload your photo to a site. We have a free photo storage site right here on the DIS.

The DIS Photo Gallery http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/index.php

You'll log in there using the same name and password you use on the DIS. After you log in, click on the upload photos button and follow the instructions.

After you've uploaded your photo, click on your photo so that it opens in a new window. Right click on the photo, click on properties, then highlight and copy the URL. It should look something like this:

After you have your URL you can post it with your comment by clicking on the "insert image" icon at the top of the box you post it (looks like a little postcard).

I got an orange band for my DD and didn't think of decorating it until I saw this thread. I love ALL of them!!! Any ideas for orange? I'm going to do white dots on my red band for Minnie.

Black stripes for Tigger?

Let me start by saying that decorating my band did NOT go as planned. It turned out okay in the end but not before I almost had a nervous breakdown! :rotfl:

After flip-flopping ideas for the past 8 months or so, I finally decided I wanted to do bright stripes on my magic band. I went to CVS and found the colors I wanted, and it happened to be some of the cheapest polish they had :rolleyes1.

I'm not really sure where I went wrong. Maybe because the polish was cheap? Maybe because I didn't do a base coat first? Hopefully someone can identify what I did wrong so people can learn from my mistakes :confused3

I used painter's tape to protect the gray border and to help me line up my stripes. That part worked really well. I got nice neat lines.

At this point I had done my blue and purple stripes:

Before I even completely finished I knew I didn't like it. I finished it anyway just to see what it would look like finished but I had already decided I would take the polish off and try using some of my Essie colors instead. The colors just didn't look the same on top of my pink band as they did in the bottles and the polish was puffy and looked like it would peel off at any moment. I figured it was no big deal to start over since others had no problem using nail polish remover and starting again.... :sad2:

I had a really hard time getting the polish off. I went through probably six cotton balls of nail polish remover. When I got off as much as I could, the band was no longer pink but an ugly faded/stained peach-like color that just looked dirty. I could still see the faded stripes and my band looked like garbage. Cue panic attack. :scared1:

I knew I'd need something dark to cover this mess, so I chose one of my favorite dark-pink Essie colors and slathered three coats on top. It covered pretty well, but I could still see some lines underneath from the stripes so I decided to do white dots on top to distract from the stripes. And what do you know-- I accidentally ended up with a Minnie Mouse band!

I finished it off with a layer of base-coat and some sparkles over the Mickey head. So I suppose all's well that ends well. I'm happy with the band in the end. But if anyone knows what I did wrong I would love to know!

Can someone please tell me the width of the band at the thickest part and thinnest part without the gray trim part. Thanks

I'm glad you guys like it. I wasn't sure about the Mickey. It's so hard to get him just right. I repainted the face four times, I think.

While I love the Mickey, I absolutely ADORE the background.

What did you use to paint this one?

Thanks. It's acrylic and nail polish sealer. The band looked pretty cool with just the argyle painted. I almost left it that way. Here's a pic.

This was a gray band, so the gray that you can see in the background is just the band color.

I'm having a band painting marathon today. Here are two more.

My sister asked for the birds from Nemo.

Detail of the hidden mickey (my favorite part)

My nephew asked for a lizard so I decided on Pascal from Tangled.

My other nephew wants Batman. My DD15 is not happy since Batman is not Disney. haha!
