A difficult one this. I think the thought of it is a lot more appealing than the reality, in the long run at least.
My missis used to work at the Rose and Crown (we met after she returned and i blame her for becoming a disney lover

). She goes on and on about how great living there was and how wonderful the lifestyle is. She talks about the disposable income, cheapish living costs, the weather etc. She used to say she'd move tomorrow if we could get green cards.
However this last trip we met up with a couple of her old work mates who'd managed to get second VISA's and had gone back to work for Disney. Both said that it wasnt the same.
In the interests of fairness i should say that we also a friend who stayed out there got married and now has a green card, he still loves it.
I believe that when my misses originally went out there she was living in the commons with young, similar minded individuals who were all (the servers at least) earning a good living and had disposable income. They were in the entertainment capital of the world had the money to enjoy it and didnt have any of the real world that emigrating to Orlando would bring with it. Medical insurance/schools etc
I love going to Orlando and fully expect to be going for a long time but i also love coming back to 'miserable, wet Britain'

I also think that my missis would love it out the initially but would soon realise the living, working and raising a family is a lot different to working in the rose and crown and going to Bennighans every night to get drunk.
Apart from that it is practically impossible to get a green card without marrying a US citizen unless;
you can get a major company to sponsor you and created a job that the government believe that only you can do or
you can prove you employ x number of US citizen and your business brings a valuable service to the area or
you have Irish heritage and want to enter the Irish green card lottery or
can prove you have a stupid amount of money in the bank
your chances are slim to none. As an example i know the US a crying out for people in my industry, its highly trained job and not one you can just turn up and do, yet there is absolutely no chance of me getting a green card......yes my missis did check
personally i think its a wonderful holiday destination and want to going as often as possible but making it my permanent home isnt for me.
