Has anyone cruise on a military rate?

Military rates are great!

I just wish they would open them up to all veterans, not just those on active duty or retired :thumbsup2

Thank you :)
My dead is retired military and my mom is a spouse. At last minute, my dad changed his mind about this cruise but my mom and I are going.

What documents are needed as proof during check in? When I called DCL, the CM was unsure. I assume it's an ID card, but is there anything else?

Yes, when I cruised with my Mom on a military rate, she only had to show her military ID card. She is also a retired military spouse. I'm not sure if it's changed but that's all we had to do :)

"vacations to go" website lists all the military rates and other discounts for every cruise line. I would still call and book through Disney, but it's a much easier way to see the discounts than plugging in MTO for every cruise.

I recently booked a four night on the Dream for November 17th. My dad's retired military and we were able to get two category 5A state rooms for $2,511.90 or roughly $125.00 per person a night. While I booked last minute, a little more than a month prior to departure, I had made reservations for the same two rooms in the beginning of 2014 (for the last weekend in September) and the cost was over $4,000.00. For those of you who can be a little flexible, waiting definitely pays off! I believe they post the new MTO rates every Monday.

I thought you could only book one room with the Military rate?

I think it was because they didn't have any rooms left that would fit 5 people at the military rate so they allowed us to have two rooms. Both my mom and dad have military ID cards - my dad for his service and my mom because she's his spouse, so maybe they were allowed two staterooms per ID card. I'm not 100%. I just said thank you when the travel agent said, I just spoke with Disney, and you're all set :woohoo:
