Has anyone camped & stayed at another resort

I'm really thinking about driving to wdw next June and would love to stay at the campground for some of the stay-we could even have a camper by then. Has anyone ever camped for say 10 nights but left in the middle for a few nights for another resort??..without checking out.

We're DVC members and there may be 10 of us going...but the points for a 3 bedroom or a two bedroom and a studio will be too much for the weekends. We could always alternate and have a different "couple" stay at the site. I like to stay a portion of the trip at the epcot area. We're also looking at staying at other resorts like the contemp. or GF on those weekend nights but I really like FW.

It would be such a pain to pack up all the camping equip. and then head back a few days later to set up camp again.

My parents live just "up the road" in Ocala and have checked in for 2wks, but gone home for an overnight or two to take care of things at home. They just leave everything set up at the site and make sure it is locked, gas turned off etc, not sure if they let the staff know they will be gone or not.

We left for 2 days/1night to visit Universal. Because of the FOTL, we wanted to stay in the Portofino on site. Just seemed like too much trouble to move.
