Hi just looking at prices for next october and I was wondering if anyone had any good offers when they booked.I tend to book seperate .When is the best time to book? Wanted to pay a low deposit and be sure to get what we wanted regards accomodation.Flights I think we will be going indirect. Cannot afford VA prices again and cannot pay all upfront so will have to book with perhaps CO.They seem to have similar offers to disney.:thumbsup2

I've been actively pulling up quotes for next October. This may not be true for many people but Disney US, as I have known for quite some time, offers me the best deal because:

DD pays a child price with US and goes as a full paying adult with any UK provider (as in flights if applicable, supplements and the full package charge - the breakdown states 2x .... everything!)

I can amend and cancel at any time 45 days or more prior to arrival and still have my deposit refunded.

I am looking at October again to tag an extra week onto the October break like this year so not too much school is missed. I can't afford full on school holiday times so that is not really an option for me at the moment. However I am considering being flexble as late September is not only cheaper, but there was recently an 'issue' at work with a co-worker who took exception to the fact that I have the October week off:confused3, or any school holiday times for that matter. Oddly I am the only one there with a child in school, but it seems to be an issue of principle since apparently this person was not allowed school hol time off work with her employer at the time her child was still in school :confused: Anyway, not to worry because on the bright side, it would automatically generate a letter from work re. holiday times which would guarantee an authorised absence with our school and save me some money in the process. :)

Failing that, I might just suck it up and go Easter the next year. Although that is a really long wait :scared1:

Flights wise, I will book my own this time. Looking at flying via Fort Worth where there is an overnight layover so I can connect with some old school buddies :cool2: However also keeping my options open in that regard.

What have you found so far?

I looked at prices for next October and at the moment the flights are 2800 for us from Belfast that's for 2 ad and 2 kids (3&5) I paid £1000 cheaper for flights in feb next year. I am considering going to hong kong as the flights are cheaper or even Australia !!!!!! Flight prices for next year are crazy

Well my mom might be coming as well and she cannot afford much so we have asked her to pay for her flight and spends. Would love to do Disney cruise as this is something she has always wanted to do.She will be 73 on 13/10/11 and it would be anice suprice.Tis for a 3 night is coming in at around $1500 for the 4 of us. As for accomodation I dont know what to do as will need 2 rooms or a one bedroom villa if staying onsite as I dont think my DB would accept her in the same room:scared1:Nor me to be honest.
Does the US site charge a supplement for 2 rooms with a child and an adult in? Dont know whether to do off site and stay in a suite to keep costs down but then I know I will be thinking when I get there "I wish I was onsite" plus we will be driving next year so will have to find parking money if staying offsite which tots up. VH quoted £3485 without tickets at the hawthorne suites LBV for 2 weeks for 4 of us with flights.Disney uk. was coming out at 2045 for a one bedroom at ssr or OKW room only .Disney US was $3960 for one room CBR over $7000 for SSR studio,:confused3

Would you consider a value resort? I am asking because All Star Music has family rooms which are effectively one bedroom suites with a kitchenette and a second bathroom. MUCH cheaper than booking 2 rooms at the same resort. It may be worth quoting it up on UK and US sites.

I am playing around some more. Did a quote for next Feb on the US site and really want the Poly but it is a bit expensive for a single income  However I also want to try POP and doing room only one week at POP and one week at the Poly plus buying tix from the UK comes in only £150 more than I paid for POFQ for this trip with tickets (and free dining which won't be free as this quote was with a room discount of 40% for Poly and 25% for POP). So adding DIY flights on top of that still makes it look doable - but Feb is a bit soon to save all that cash!

I have booked for October next year =).

I booked directly with Disney though. Ridic expensive but im a travel novice so im happy to pay some £££ each month =).

Well go on then - don't be mysterious, tell us what you got! :yay:

We have booked our villa at Watersong for next October, not even looked at flights etc. A trip to Canada before then

. Tiggs where did you get the discount for these resorts from? Meant to say to you dont you worry about other people moaning because you have the school half term off.If you request it and get it its noting to do with them. They are probably as jealous as hell because you are going to disney and they are not:laughing: Stupid idiot-pure resentment.:woohoo:Thats wht I want to do next year tag a week either before or after the half term.Plus I graduate in october so another celebration.Do you know when the kids half term is for next year? Havent even been this year yet and fretting over next year:rotfl:
Im always booking my hols around the april mark as The last 3 times have always found that VA have a few sales days and have managed to get a good price. This year paying £1515 for 2 adults and a child on the 25th april(I think it was that day) .Booked at 07.30 in the morning and by late afternoon the same flight had gone up £300:scared1: Crazy.
Will look at all stars then. I also like blue heron beach resort and vistana viallage

Hi Crabbie

No idea when the English half terms falls next year. Scottish school terms are different. Our October week is always the second full week of October and Easter hols are the first two weeks of April, regardless of when Easter falls so it is fairly easy to work out. Also VA only flies out of Glasgow on 3 days in April and 2 days in October so it is pretty easy to work out, lol.

The room discounts are on the US site. You have to click through the Special Offers link at the bottom of the page. Although it doesn't show the discounted amount if you just plug in the same dates and resort without going through the link, it comes in MUCH more expensive. The room discounts only run to 17 Feb 11 so far and I don't know when they will release discounts for further in the year.

Free dining at POP makes it cheaper than booking POP through Disney UK and then paying for dining - or even paying for CS meals OOP. Of course it means I have to buy a 2 day base ticket at $160 so effectively $160 is the cost of QSDP but unlike UK tickets, unused US ones don't expire and can be upgraded later to more days by paying the difference which could work out well in the future.

I am not going to worry about arguing the leave story at work. My leave was approved for this trip over a year ago so it isn't a problem. If I can take DD in holiday time, great. If it looks like it is going to cause ripples, I will take her out of school for a week as a tag-on, but not 2 full weeks out of school. If I get angry about it, I lose. If I go with the flow, either way, I win. :) Thank you though. A few weeks ago I was not so happy about the whole situation and what was being implied, but I don't stay cross for long. No point really.
