I know we have'nt got to this summer yet and the thought of booking for summer 2011 sounds scary and stupid but having looked at the prices for this summer if i don't start to put money aside i'll be lucky if we return before 2020!!! i've noticed that virgin are advertising summer 11 on there website and it got me thinking ( very dangerous on a wet saturday afternoon) By booking this early we will be able to put a set amount away each month without having to bung it on the c.c or completly empting the bank. Emptying the bank not really an option as there's not much in there. We are in the middle of gutting our house from top to bottom (hence no florida holiday this year):confused3 Has anyone done this yet?

So far we have Disney cruise booked for 21st~25th August.
Waiting for Disney to release hotels with free DDP for 17 nights before cruise, then we will have 3 or 4 nights to book after cruise offsite but won't book that til next year.
Flights can't book until Sept at earliest, for this August didn't book until end of January.
Packages are too expensive for me in August so its a waiting game.

You are right, it is a dangerous thing to be doing today. It's snowing here in Tulsa, OK......happy 1st day of Spring

We haven't booked for 2011 yet, but I keep looking. We're supposed to have a mini-family reunion at WDW next year. I'm a planner, so it's all I can do to keep myself from sending notes out to everyone.

Like you, I'm mostly concerned with saving for the trip. I know DH & I are saving and will be ready. I'm sure my mom and step-dad are doing the same. Not sure about my sis and her family or my stepsis and stepbro and their families though. And who knows if my brother even remembers, ha!

But if the others don't plan ahead, my mom and I will take my sister's kids and go ourselves. DH won't mind.....he hasn't caught the Disney bug yet, but I still have hope!!

I don't think it's ever too soon to start saving, especially for vacations.

I booked a few weeks ago with VH. Probably could have got it cheaper if I'd done a diy but it's our first time going to Florida and this way we can save instead of having to pay out for the flights etc in one go. :)

We've booked a Disney cruise for October 2011 and just booked a flydrive with VH last week. It makes me feel better knowing I've got something booked, even if it is way into the future ;)

we are going in august next yr for aroud 3 weeks, no hols for us this yr as we are in the middle of replacing all the drains around the house and finally gutting our advocado green bathroom :scared1:
as for flights, we usually book with virgin atlantic,as we always find virgin hols are far more expensive- whenever i have looked at the dates.
anyway, next yr i'm hoping to do a wayneg :) and book an indirect flight, as going by this yrs prices flying direct, i don't want to pay that

Yep-we booked LAST November for April 2011 with Virgin. So far our holiday has already risen by £600,and our park tickets by aprox £5 each.We always book as soon as our dates become available,we pay our deposit on our debit card(so money has to already be in there),then we pay whatever we can when we can,it's suprising how quick the balance goes down :thumbsup2.Go on book it-you know you want to .x.

Oh im loving the last reply...
If you book a virgin flydrive do you have to pay in full for the flights? With gutting the house we have'nt got a couple of grand lying in the bank. Not unless we live without a kitchen for the next year.

This is a really good point. :thumbsup2 I think often people overlook this fact when pricing up the package vs the DIY. If flights are put onto a credit card (especially one with a high interest rate) all may not be as it appears. Besides, once it' booked you have a reference number and an itinerary to stare at (every hour or so :lmao:) and it is official. :goodvibes Good for you. :thumbsup2

Like quite a few people on here, we also have a 4 night cruise booked on the Dream, so now waiting for the 2011 DDP to be released by Disney before we make a further move

I just booked flights for Feb 2011 on Friday. The flights are not released yet but were a guaranteed fare and I was very pleased with the price as we are travelling from Belfast and very limited.

:)We have booked with VH for June 2011, and i already so exited :cool1: i like having plenty of time to pay of the balance, so i am really glad that i have booked already

Just waiting on Free Dining and then I am booking for Sept/Oct 2011 which will hopefully be in the next couple of weeks. Can't wait.

We've not booked yet but will be booking our flights the day athey are available which will be next month, and then we can also book our cruise and a couple of our Disney Hotels. (Staying on DVC points for some of the time.)

I wish I could hvae booked already!

Watcha:bounce:

Yup - we booked three weeks ago for July 2011. Package with VH.

It works best for us to have it inked in so far out. Only thing I am struggling with is the slow countdown! Roll on the next 490 days... :upsidedow

Is that why you don't have a ticker in your signature? :rotfl2:

Don't worry, my countdown started at 17 months - now look at it!

I also saw one the other night on the main board for 1 year and 9 months! Made my October trip feel like tomorrow in comparison. ;)

We have booked a villa for May 2011, havent booked any flights yet. VH are quoting a fortune for a flydrive!!

My family dont fancy paying close to £750 each for an economy seat when they got them for £460 each last October....NO WAY!! And I dont fancy paying £1400 each for a PE seat when I got UC last October for £1700 each!!!

So we will wait and see what TCD can offer! Anyone used Jetsave before for Virgin flights? :confused3

I'm dying to book, but we want to go to New Orleans at the start of the holiday (then drive to Orlando and fly home from there) and Virgin don't issue their American brochure until about July time :sad1:

we're flying next week with Virgin through Jetsave, but we did book a package with them in the end ... it worked out cheaper than just the flights with Virgin!! We booked last May ... 11 months seemed like forever, but I can't believe this time next week I'll be flying in the morning!
