Has anyone booked a "Boardwalk View"

Thanks. I want to book BCV at 11mo. out for next Nov., but then I would really like to stay at WL (which I could waitlist at 7mo. if none was available, but I am also thinking if I could have BWV I would love that!)decisions....

I made ressies 11 months out for SSR and just switched to BWV Boardwalk View at 7 months. Not a problem. We are going the first week in May, and that may be the reason why it was so easy!

We went at the end of January 2003 to stay in a 2br standard view room. They stuck us in a 1br by mistake (computer error), and we wound up with the GV on the Boardwalk, 5th floor! It was incredible! We were only there for 3 nights, but I sure wish it had been the whole 10 nights we were at WDW!!

I've got 2 studio Boardwalk views booked for the first week of February that I got at a little less than 7mos. I tried to get my home BCV but it was booked solid, then she suggested BWV bw view I jumped on it. I've stayed at BWV before and love it there and am looking forward to staying there again. Since this trip is all adults in the winter with no plans on swimming, but will likely use the balcony quiet a bit, I think it worked out perfectly. I LOVE MY DVC!::yes::

glad to hear they made the change - we never get a nice view - ever

we booked a preferred view, hoping for a boardwalk view, and wound up looking at the pool (with loud kids late at night hanging out) that was several years ago

the one time we used points to stay at The Grand Californian, they gave us a room looking over the parking lot (we didn't pay extra, but were hoping for a nice room, seeing as how they probably don't have many dvc guests)....they did wind up letting us stay a few extra nights for free, and disneyland was closed one day....you guessed it....9/11

in our continuing saga, we just had to cancel at VB because they won't open until 11/20

we just booked at HH, which is a much longer drive from Tampa, and we had to take a 2 bedroom for 12 extra points total, which is not a big deal, but it will only be the 2 of us - I think they should have offered the same points for the change.

We just swapped some of our Boardwalk View day's to VWL...I wonder if you got them Denise :)

We always book at 11 months out and since the change have gotten guaranteed boardwalk view every time we've wanted it. So far, we've only stayed in it once (even set up a webcam!) and loved it.

Our trip next week WAS booked as a guaranteed boardwalk view, but then we hit a snag. At six months out, some group chartered our three-day DCL cruise and we got bumped. The good news is, we got a four-day for the same points as our three-day, but it moved our BWV reservation and we lost our guaranteed boardwalk view :(

They immediately put us on a priority waitlist, which is supposed to mean that the very first opening to a boardwalk view is ours, but so far that hasn't happened. We're still on the list until the seven day mark, then I'll start calling and hassling MS (or maybe I should call BWV directly?) on a daily basis and hope we get it.

Although I know we'll have a great time anyway, it really stinks to know I planned ahead and got what I wanted only to have it yanked away by something out of our control. I realize DVC can't kick somebody else out of the view, but it still stinks.
