If so, where? Did you like it? I am trying to decide where to stay should FD be offered in Feb. We are leaning towards BCV or BLT (but I heard BLT is rarely on FD).

The two bedroom are usually excluded from FD.

We have booked 2BR villas in the past for free dining, and intend to do so again when the code is projected to go public. We always stay at SSR, as we have 4 adults and a child (age 2). We love having the kitchen, full living room, and separate bathrooms and bedrooms. We like it's convenience and proximity to DTD. This just makes our vacation so much more enjoyable, so our toddler can nap in a separate room, and we don't have to sit in silence, or sit on the bed, like we would have to do in a regular room. Also, having in room laundry is a huge plus. I don't know if free dining will be offered during the mid winter, but keep you eyes peeled for discounts. If your travel plans are flexible, I am fairly certain that free dining for fall will be released before the first week of August.

I think the PP was mistaken by saying that 2BR are rarely offered, its the 3BR and suites that are excluded in pin codes and public promotions. We also stayed in a 3BR years ago, and it was fabulous. Too bad those are rarely discounted.
Hope this helps you out!!

I'm just wondering why you would want to pay rack rate for a villa just to get free dining when you'll have a kitchen. Wouldn't it be more cost effective to get a room only discount, cook some in the villa, and pay OOP for the rest? I would crunch the numbers to make sure FD is going to be the best use of your dollar. Unless, you don't plan on cooking at all...then ignore my post;)

The only time I got free dining on a 2bdr villa was at SSR back in 2008.2 bdr villas are rarely in the Free dining promo, and if they are it is generally at SSR and OKW..1bdr villas at BCV can sometimes be found on free dining, but never the 2 bdr ones.BCV and BLT are very popular and generally book pretty easily, no need to discount them when they book 100% or are in use by owners.

If you can get any type of room discount you may make out better. We are 4adults and the free dining has never been a better deal than a discount with a 2 bedroom villa. The rack rate is so high that depending on the number of people using the villa it may not be worth it. We are currently booked with a AAA discount for a 2 bedroom at the BC for Aug. We have stayed at OKW in the past and they are too far removed from the parks for us. We prefer the Epcot resorts. We stayed at the BWVs since they opened until last Aug. when the view we like was unavailable (I don't want to overlook the parking lot) so we stayed at the BCVs for the first time and loved them. We are returning to the BCVs next month and can't wait.

It's weird for us, because the week we go in February is the middle season in terms of points to rent, but value for cash reservations. So, renting points isn't that great of a deal. Kind of odd since it's supposed to be the single deadest week for the parks.

Last time, we did a treehouse with a 40% off code. That was way better than free dining, but the 25-30% they do now aren't.

OP, if you really want to save money, rent points for the 2-bedroom rather than hope and pray Disney throws a discount your way. You'll save WAY more money that way.

Yes, the "seasons" for DVC are different from regular Disney resorts. Sometimes that affects the way we choose the weeks we vacation.

Actually for this week in Feb, either a 25% room only discount on a cash rental or FDing would save us more than renting points.

Yes, but neither of those discounts are guaranteed.

You are totally right. However, since it's such a historically quiet week, I'm optimistic. If nothing is offered, we can try buying last minute points. I don't see much point in buying now, when discounts still seem to be coming for much busier periods. Plus, if I buy points now, it's not like I can add future discounts.

So, at the moment points are off the table. I'll have to cross my fingers through August that they offer something. ;)

I'm glad to see that people are sometimes able to get discounts on the 2BDRs. I have 2BDRs booked for a split stay in early Dec - BWV and AKV Kidani. I'm certainly not counting on a discount but an AP room only discount would totally make my day. I did choose BWV over BCV just to improve the odds slightly. There are 6 of us so either way the 2BDR makes sense, but it's good to know a discount is possible.
