The choir trip this year will be to FL with 3 or 4 days in WDW. The director doesn't have all the details yet but the tour company who is planning this trip for us mentioned fast passes several times to him when the subject of tickets came up.

Last time we went with a large group, it was the old system and came in handy since we weren't in any one park for an entire day. The old system enabled the kids to ride the headliners in each park.

Anyway, I was just curious if anyone knew how FP+ will work with a large group (around 100) whose trip is being planned by a tour company.

My son's marching band went in May and since they didn't receive their tickets until they arrived in Florida, they scheduled FP+ at the kiosks.

I am really interested in this too. My daughter's high school softball team, coaches and parents are all going the week after Easter 2015. I am really worried that if we don't get to make FP+ reservations in advance, there will be nothing left that week.

LuvsJack - Please let us know how your trip goes.

DH goes in October with his x-country team. I told him he needs to discuss this with their travel agent.

I work for a travel company that plans trips for bands and choirs. I take groups to WDW 4-6 times per year.

The way we handle the FP+ is that we receive a list of the ticket NUMBERS for a group from the company that handles our ticketing. We usually receive that several months before the trip. We assign those tickets to individuals in the group, then we email that database to our clients, so each individual can attach his or her ticket to his or her MDE account. Then we make sure they know the itinerary so they can make appropriate FP+ selections.

We write the names on the back of the tickets, and I distribute the labeled tickets to the group when we arrive at the parks the first day. That way there isn't any chance of the kids losing or forgetting the actual tickets. I haven't had a group this spring that stayed on site, but another tour director did, and they distributed magic bands upon arrival at the resort.

I'm not sure every travel company will do this, but we feel it is important that our clients can take full advantage of FP+, so it's worth the extra effort.

Just to tag on some extra points to my previous post.

We just had our annual meeting/training today, and we will continue to provide ticket numbers to our clients as soon as we receive them, to allow them to make FP+ reservations in advance.

We are toying with other ways to provide the numbers, including adding the individual numbers to each person's online financial account with the company.

Everyone who had traveled with a group this spring and used the new system said the clients were very pleased to be able to make the reservations in advance.
