Has anyone been to Busch Gardens/Colonial W'burg VA?

Here is a youtube of our family at Sesame Street Breakfast at Busch Gardens.

We had fun, but a few caveats.

1. Don't expect the food to be any good, it is worst than a cold McDonalds hash brown.
<snip!>

Wow, I guess things have really gone downhill since we ate there. We did a breakfast at the beginning of the summer, and we had an assigned table, an employee going up and down the line to check everyone in, and the food (and juice) were both actually quite good. I'm sorry to hear that is no longer the case. :sad2:

In post #50 MouseSkywalker links to his TR and I know that he discusses the CW refillable mugs (with pics, including where they can be re-filled and with what).
Though you may be gone already, Favorite Auntie! I hope that you have a great time & let us (me) know how it was.

Oh, one other thing...if anybody is still reading this :). Are there any liquor stores in the area? In our BC (before child) travels my husband & I noticed that the liquor stores in the south tended to carry things that you never saw up north, in addition to an amazing selection of bourbons.

Hey, it IS a college town, right ;)?

We didn't do the mug but only spent one day in the historic area. I saw several places that sold it and refills. If you spend several days eating breakfast at your hotel or in the historic area, you could get your $ back and a souvie.

I'm still unpacking, lol, and I found some extra meal vouchers that I forgot we had. The day we went to WC, we had trouble with the meal voucher machine at the gate so customer service gave us extra vouchers as compensation. We had already bought lunch vouchers for that day, and the day ended early because of thunderstorms, or we would have used them for dinner. We had already bought 2 meals for the next day at Busch Gardens, so didn't use them there either.

So, if anyone wants them, please pm me your address and I'll mail them to you. I have 4 "meal" vouchers - each meal is an entree, side (dessert or salad, etc.) and a drink. They are good for the 2009 season only, at either Busch Gardens or Water Country USA.

:goodvibes:disrocks:

*****Folks, the vouchers are taken....

Every place has their good days & bad days :). As long as the kids have fun.
We're likely going to skip the Sesame Street character meal since this trip has the option of not being tied down by ADRs...plus there seem to be SO many intriguing places to eat in the area that I've been making a list.

OMG, I so just sent you a PM!

I hope that you had a good time & will post an update when you have a chance.

By an odd coincidence I spent last night after work doing laundry, thinking that I get to do it all over again when we get back :rotfl:.

There is a link to my TR earlier in this thread - post 55. We are done, except for the unpacking! And looking forward to Yellowstone next year!

I tried searching for ABC stores (VA liquor stores) on their website but it seems something is wrong with their search function . The Wine & Cheese shop has lots of bottles of wine and microbrews/domestic beer available for purchase if you're into that too. I'm sure there is an ABC store somewhere in Williamsburg but I only work here and drink when I get home ;).

their grocery stores carry beer and wine. Maybe some other types as well.

I don't see a forehead smacking smiley or I'd be using it. Yours was one of the original TRs that I read on the DIS when I started searching for info on Williamsburg. It was one of the reasons that I started this thread :rotfl:.

Yes, ABC! I remember them from our first motorcycle trip through VA. Home of the "light weight plastic travelling flask" (seriously...the first time that we had ever seen liquor sold in these).

You know, I always forget that every state OTHER than NY seems to do this. Thank you SO much for reminding me!

Just checked the weather forecase for Williamsburg this weekend. 90's and thunderstorms :headache:. Oh well, I've still got those ponchos that I'd bought for Disney...

To add to my list of things to do before we left, last night was spent re-stuffing & stitching up Amber's "baby", a little stuffed puppy that she carries around and sucks on (she's a weird dog). She loves this toy but, sadly, sometimes she loves it a bit too much :rotfl:.

Anyway, we are mostly packed and everything seems to have been rounded up. Tonight is for any last minute things, then tomorrow morning we leave bright & early. I can't thank you all enough for all of your help & suggestions & I have them all compiled into a huge list that I'm bringing along. Everybody's excited :).
