Has Anyone Been On A 50 Passenger Jet Before?

The first flight I ever took was on a jet smaller than the one you will be flying on. It was a smooth ride and I enjoyed it once the first 15 minutes passed. (First time nerves...)
I wouldn't hesitate to do it again! Good Luck!

The regional jets are fun to fly. Not the roomiest, but still comfortable. Quick to load and unload. You will be fine.

The only thing to watch is carry on size there is very little room, but they should gate check any bags for you. Independence does this and those bags are off quick and waiting for you as you deplane.

These planes are much better that the old turbo props that I used to fly on many moons ago.

The ERJ-145 has seats aranged with one on one side and 2 on the other, they are a little narrower than the Canadair CRJ's. But the lattest ERJ-170/180/190 are actually are set up and look like a mini 737 or Airbus 318 (two engines on the wings). And even have nicer seating then the 737/320 familys. They are at 70-100 seats basiclly the replacement for the aging DC-9. Who would have thought that one of the greatest new aircraft would come from Brazil.

I flew a couple of props this weekend (smaller than what you're going on) and they were fine. I liked that it was quick on and off - though it was noisy!! =)

We fly in the regional Embraer jets all the time to Orlando and other places with no problems at all....I am pooh sized and DH and I sit just fine in the two seats together.. Our planes have the three seats across, but I have found I do not fit well into the third single seats, I fit better in the one with my DH, a bit more roomy.

We have mostly had very smooth rides in them, but we did fly through the remnants of Hurricane Frances last year and it was a bit bumpy but not too bad.... :sunny:

Flying is wonderful, you arrive much more rested and it often gives you extra days to enjoy yourself in Orlando..have a good flight now... :sunny:

A 50 seat jet is bigger than the first one I flew when we lived in Montana. They made the passengers tell how much they weighed before they issued you a seat. Then they distributed the weight on the plane by that. It had about 8 seats on it. The next time I flew, it was a bigger jet. It had about 18 seats on it.

I've done those regional jets lots of time and they are really pretty good. You can get a seat that is both an aisle seat and a window seat.
