I was just wondering if anyone has been offered one of those "if you buy today you get a x disocun" from Disney?

If you don't want to answer in public, feel free to pm or email me @ drakethib@yahoo.com.

Buy the way, I am in the ROFR stage in a release deal for OKW.

I am wondering how long ot takes to get an answer.

Thanks

The promotional offers are pretty standard. If you search the forum, you'll find details on the $10 discount / "Free Vacation" offer that's been running for about 2 months now.

I've not heard of DVC offering other spur-of-the-moment incentives to induce people to buy. Their prices are fixed; the Guides (salespeople) have zero ability to negotiate with people.

When prospective members tour the model rooms at WDW, they are frequently offered the discounts referenced above with a 72 hour time limit attached. No time limit is imposed on those who purchase from home.

DVC has up to 30 days to exercise or decline ROFR. Could be less, or they could take their time.

Thanks for the response.

Yes. I did the search and found the info, but I also heard that there were offers which could be available for onsite purchases.

Thanks again.

Not really, but we "took the tour" of the model at BWV in Jan of this year and were told we'd get vouchers for dinner but we never got them. Oh well...just looking at the layouts and the decor was good enough for me. Although we still weren't quite ready at the time, I knew we wanted to become members anyway, it was just a matter of when. We had so much planned that we probably didn't have room for an "unscheduled" meal anyway.

There were six in our party and we got 6 "instant ride boarding passes". They said these were to reimburse us for the hour we gave them, so they gave us the passes to save us 1 hour of being in line for a ride. These were nice and worked similiar to the fast pass. We would insert these special passes into the fast pass machine and instead of having to come back at a certain time, it said to board immediately. These came handy on the safari.

We were offered a rather nice sum of $$'s to buy today... We didn't and only got 4 immediate Fast Pass Passes.
