Just curious.

I have always read that you must show resort ID to get in the parks early on early entrance days, but has anyone acutually been asked to show it??

Same thing goes for transportation.....Never ever been asked.

We go to the EE mornings a lot and we have never once been asked to show our resort ID. In Fact, we usually get 4 cards, 2 for us and 2 for kids, and the kids ususally put theirs in the suitcases or leave them behind, so we actually usually only have 1 or 2 with us.

Now on the extended nights, we know and have had to show them to get the wristbands, but never in the AM.

Do they actually turn anyone away??

And speaking of the wristbands, I never saw them check peoples arm at night. A lot of people just walked on and no one stopped them, so whats the point of having them?/

I did EE several times at Mk, Epcot and MGM on my past trip and they did ask for it every time.

Yes we have been asked at the morning EE. And yes we have seen people being told to wait if they didn't have them. We went for EE about 10 minutes before regular park opening at Epcot one morning (I know 10 minutes, woo hoo) and someone tried to go in and they were not allowed, she told them they would have to show resort ID or wait for 10 more minutes.

Each and every time I've been I was asked to show resort ID and that's probably around 20-30 times in all of our visits combined.

Every park for early entry...of course, also for evening hours (wristband).

Never for transportation but, probably should @ park closing time. Might help alleviate the congestion on buses, etc.

You don't notice CMs "checking for" wristbands during evening EMH, but believe me, they're looking for them. They're trained not to be obtrusive about it, but think about it -- every time you enter any ride or attraction you pass by at least one CM, and usually many more. They don't miss a thing, but are very discreet.

I was initially denied the ability to PURCHASE a souvenir at the gift shop outside PoTC because the CM didn't notice my wristband during evening EMH; if you don't have a wristband, you also aren't allowed to buy merchandise or food. The point of that is, if you can't do ANYTHING in a park, you WILL choose to leave.

When the OP said his/her kids often leave their resort IDs in the suitcases, I'm assuming he/she buys tickets separately and not as part of a WDW package. Otherwise, their room key is also their resort ID and park ticket combined (my 5 year old had one, but we didn't need one for our 2.5 year old since there was no charge for her, anyway). If a child over 2 doesn't have "admission media," I can't see how he/she is allowed inside the gate to begin with.

Nearly every time we went to EMH in the morning, they asked for a room ID. At AK, we saw some people going through the turnstile. As the last man in the group was just going through, the CM asked to see his room ID. He didn't have one and was not staying at a Disney resort. They opened the stroller gate and showed him the way out. The rest of his group took off in the park before they could be escorted out.

Yes on being asked for resort ID for EMH park entry and yes on being checked for a wristband. No to being asked when using Disney transportation. I always have it handy in case there is ever a first time though. ;)

It used to be at the MK that they often didn't seem to check for resort ids, but since neither the monorail nor the boat from the TTC would be bringing people over, the only people at the gates would be resort guests. No one else should have been able to have gotten that far. At the other parks they have always checked and it seems that now they also check at the MK. As for the transportation, I think that anyone with a multiple day pass is really allowed to use the transportation, so that usually means just about everyone.

We weren't checked for EE when we went and they weren't checking anyone else. A family on the monorail bragging how they parked at the Poly and were staying on I 4. They were able to gain entry in the next line with no problems. The place was mobbed and we will never go back again.

Yes on EMH am (actually always). And also I have seen people turned away from attractions at EMH pm (oh, and the lines were long to get the wristbands at that time.)

Never for transportation though.

The CM may have expected the group to stay with their last comrade. But probably no great loss, the last man (kept) out may, when he finally got in at regular opening time, have chewed out the rest of the group for leaving him behind.

We always rent a car so when going to MK we have to Park at T&T ...when we were going through the entrance to the monorail they were making people show theirs. If they didn't have one they wouldn't let them through the gate. We are always asked for our ID at Epcot.

My question is if I have two friends who do not have resort ID's, then can they still stay in the park with me and not ride anything or buy anything? I know you can't do anything without the wrist band, but if they just stay in the park and watch, will the park care?

We have always been asked to see our resort ID. They don't seem to care about the other transportation since you could ride it all you wanted before the parks opened. They do seem to be very strict about the early entry days though.

Never. We've done Epcot and MK EE on our trips. Never had to show ID....even on Friday after Thanksgiving at MK. :rolleyes2

We often drive to the parks, and have been asked for resort ID at International Gateway, MGM, and entrance to ferry/monorail at MK.

If your friends do not have hotel IDs they will not be allowed to stay in the park during EMH. Its a WDW resort perk, for the sole use of resort guests. Otherwise what would be the sense in offering it. Plus how boring would it be for your friends to watch you have all the fun and they just get to watch. Encourage them to get a room onsite so they don't miss any of the fun. Actually to me the only good EMH is the morning at MK (Tomorrowland and Fantasyland are open), thats when they have the most rides open. Only a handful of rides at the other parks are open during EMH.

We're at Disney a lot and we've always been asked to show ID both in the am and in the evening. Never been asked to show it for transportation and that would be great if they would do that as the buses really get so overcrowded but then again people do use it to go from one park to another or to get to resorts for dining so maybe that's why they don't ask for it.
