Has anybody looked into Adventures by Disney?

It looks pretty cool!

We're looking to go to Italy next year for DD's 16th birthday, but have to admit have a little fear of the unknown going on.

Not knowing anything about the hotel, where to eat, the language, etc..

When I heard about this it was like an answered prayer! I mean Italy AND Disney!

WOW!! And looks like their offering an AP discount too.

I checked it out last week- I was impressed. I looked into the Wyoming and Hawaii one just for kicks. It seems like it would be a great way to tour a place that was unfamiliar and do alot of really wonderful activities!
On another note, what a great birthday present for your daughter (I'm jealous)!

I sent for the brochure (very nicely done, BTW.) My impression is that the trips sound fabulous, especially the Italy and Wyoming ones. They do seem expensive - much more expensive than doing a similar trip on your own, but I really like the idea of the kids only activities and family activities.

I think it would be a wonderful trip for your daughter's birthday, a trip of a lifetime for her!

Brier Rose, you should not have any troubles in Italy. I spent a week in Rome and did not have to refer to my English/Italian dictionary. English is widely spoken and Americans are warmly received in Italy. I stayed at the Hotel Capo D'Africa for five nights. The hotel is located near the Coliseum and is luxurious. They also have a substantial continental breakfast each morning. I highly recommend it.

I'm so torn about it really. On the one hand I think we would be fine on our own, and on the other I think..it's Disney you know it's gonna be great!

Even the hotels they have chosen look fabulous! And all the activities... Gladiator lessons, cooking lessons, dinner on a pirate ship, private gondola's, and private entrances to the tourist attractions!

Did you check out the London/Paris trip? Private dinner in the Eiffel Tower!

I was on one of the first trips to Hawaii last year. It was wonderful. The resorts they chose were top notch.

It is expensive but so many of the activities that are included and meals are priceless and impossible to do by yourself.

It was so good that I'm going back this year and taking my son with me.

We looked into it for the Wyoming trip cause we're definitely going there this June anyway, but the minimum age for kids is 8 and my daughter is 2 so that ruled them out for us for years! With my son due in August that means we can't do any of their trips for 8.5 years!!

I was looking at the Wyoming one. These Disney Destination Trips are for people that don't want to do any planning of their own at all. Disney does everything for you-thus the expense. It seems pretty much action packed, meals, lodging.

We took a similar trip to Italy with "Buick". We won the trip through Buick, and they did all the meal planning, touring, guides. We stayed at the Hilton in Rome for 10 days. We traveled by plane to Venice for a day, and took the bullet train to Florence for a day, the rest of the days were scheduled around Rome. We were able to enter tourist areas through private entrances also. This was well worth it-if we didn't have these guides and private entrances for our groups, we would of waited 2-3 hours to enter many places.

We received a 1099 misc. from Buick, because we won the trip through work, it the trip came to $10,000 between 2 people and that was in 1995. So I don't think Disney is to far off with the adventure prices.

Oh, I'm so glad this program turned out to be a success. I would absolutely love to try some of those tours especially the Wyoming and Costa Rica ones.
