Has a good friend ever dumped you?

You know, you make a good point, Wishing on a Star. I remember when my best friend from HS had her first child. I can assure you that I didn't want to lose the friendship, but I also knew that there was no way that she'd have the energy to see me or talk to me as much as she once did. I was very conscious about when I'd call her so as not to bump into meals or bath/bed time. She still says how much she appreciated this and she and I are still best friends... it'll be 23 years in September. Things change, but when both parties are willing to adapt, everything can work out for the best.

RUDisney.......you said the important word for with children/without children friends to understand.......ADAPT. My two local best friends now have children. Our friendships have changed dramatically and we all have to adapt to the change. They're not wrong for wanting to talk about their children all the time and I'm not wrong for still having other interests. The friendship just has a different dynamic now. It makes me sad, yes, but I understand there's no other way.

I have had some unfortunate situations with friends that have really only made my relationships with them stronger. I am so thankful for that too.

Nope, can't say that they have...

Sorry to hear about your "friend". Maybe you don't need friends like her...
